K. There was this guy called Deep and he was a bit of a knob.

Yeah, i know what you mean mate, i selected my team with Dyer in there instead of Sibi, but i couldn't really make up my mind. Sibierski does bring the best out of Martins, i agree, but i think Dyer works better with the team on the whole. Dyer's certainly a key player for us, and i think it should be all about fitting him somewhere into the team. He doesn't work on the right, and we can't budge Emre and Butt (imo), so he's got to go there. Like i said in my previous post, Sibi will be a good impact player. Come the 65-70th minute or so that is, not the 86th.

The Sir Bob of 1999-2004, aye. Not an insult to him - he's still a legend - but he's too old to be managing a Premiership club now. If we had Martin O'Neill, we'd certainly be well up there. The Aston Villa bumfest is subsiding, but look at the shite array of players that they've got. They finished 16th last season and rightly so. O'Neill's overachieving with them even if they're 8th. If O'Neill had our squad, we'd be flying high. Not bitter or anything. ;-)

Toon Taylor... who's this Billy Jones? Nugent. Been raving about him for a while. He hasn't got too many goals this season but he's still a key player for Preston, possibly their best. He can drive at defenders, using his pace and strength, and he's got fantastic technique infront of goal. I've seen little of him this season, mostly last season, but i really like him. I know very little about Eastwood - but he ain't really done enough to save Southend this season. Scored a bundle of goals in League 1, but Lee Trundle does (did) that season in-season out.

We have Top 6 standard players, absolutley no doubt about it. We have some first class individuals at the club and it's a nonsense that we are down where we are. We don't have a Top 6 (barely a Top 10) manager.

Agree with your sentiments, and i know that i'm guilty of taking swipes at the team/manager/etc but i'm usually 50-50. I've got plenty of good things to say aswell. I thought the critisism of Parker was unfair, he went out there and played his game and i don't think he did too badly. He was frustrating, no doubt about it - like i said in my article, but he gave his all like you say. Parker doesn't pick the team. The manager, however, does. And last night's performance from Glenn was still pretty dreadful from my point of view. I wasn't too distressed by the starting line-up, because the logic worked - however we lacked a cuting edge having lost a striker and come the second half we were crying out for things to be changed. As soon as we didn't change anything, and Chelsea did, we were always going to lose the match. I wholeheartedly disagree with the people who said "it was pointless brinhing on subs", that's pathetic really - you should have faith in the players, especially those like Sibi - who've been excellent this season. I'm OK with Parker, i don't have anything against the man - he just doesn't work in the team. But i don't like Roeder, i think he's a poor manager. But yeah, Bellers, agree with your sentiments a lot.

Well fancy that.

And lightning doesn't strike twice. Craig Moore... Can you honestly sit there and tell me that Craig Moore has been a success at this club? I don't dislike Moore, i think he is an alright defender. But i think both Taylor and Ramage have proved to be a better partnership than Moore and someone. Plus, he didn't play for us until like March. :?
-
I'd pay £8m for him to be honest. If there is one position in our team that we are crying out for improvement - it's left-back. Baines is a quality left-back and will develop into a cracking player. We either spend the money or settle for more Babas.
-
And lightning doesn't strike twice.
-
Yeah right.
-
Why couldn't the poll options have been 'yes' and 'no'? No. I don't now and i didn't then. Poor manager.
-
Aye, the Roeder thing that i said was a bit of an over-reaction, they possibly would still have beaten us, but Roeder's tactics were still shite.
-
Woul dbe absolutely ecsatic if we beat them. Another 6/7-1 would be canny.

Hilarious: I'm 'Toon'. QUOTE(Toon @ Dec 20 2006, 21:52) Not arguing with the fact that Robben was fouled - he was, no doubt. (Looked like a right tit, though - he cheated by flying into the box in an attempt to get a penalty). Cheated by flying into the box? He was at full pace, took a knock and rode it, then was scythed down at pace, this tends to mean that you fall with the momentum of said pace in the direction you are travelling. QUOTE(Toon @ Dec 20 2006, 21:52) It was the fact that you moved the ball about three yards to get a better shot at goal. That was the cheating. The foul was about a foot outside the box and the ball was on the line, one foot doesn't equate three yards. QUOTE(Toon @ Dec 20 2006, 21:52) Plus, your players were flying all over the place all the way through the match. Generally because your players were kicking us all over the place all the way through the match. Any team with Parker and Butt in the mid-field isn't going to be known for their subtle ball skills. QUOTE(Toon @ Dec 20 2006, 21:52) I'm not saying we were brilliant - we would have beaten you if it wasn't for Roeder. He shoul dhave taken Parker off and brought Sibi on far sooner - when we were on top and dominating. Good, because you weren't. I don't think Newcastle were ever really dominating, they had good spells but not much that overly bothered us, and I certainly don't think you'd have beaten us with the team you put out today. --- 'Scythed down by Butt'. Chelsea C***s. Swiftly left their forum, can't be arsed with that.
-
I disagree with your reasoning, but it's not that i'm bothered about so that's why i've omitted that from the quote. Plus, i've sat and argued about Roeder's tactics last night too much now and can't be bothered to do it again. We should have made subs, simple as. What was really disappointing about your post and your little jab, is that you've chosen to pinpoint me, out of the multitudes of people who share a similar opinion to mine.

Apparently, your talking crap and don't even have a link. Would have been easier to just believe me. Tha majority of people read SkySports. You can F*** off n'all... you telling me that i talk crap. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=436843&CPID=8&clid=4&lid=&title=Stelios+rues+his+luck

We're after Stelios apparantely, rumoured £2m bid. Why the hell do we want him? Isn't he a right-winger?
-
His set-piece against us in the San Siro was f***ing quality. Nowhere near as good as Nobby's volley.
-
Emre's shite at free-kicks and corners. I don't know why he keeps taking them. Nobby is clearly the better set-piece specialist.
-
Have a good time mate, see you in Feb.
-
What? Good signings? Luque? The only good signing Souness made was Emre. The Krul.
-
 Rock hard you ain't ya.

Sibierski should have been brought on sooner, You changed your mind about the subs then, Gemmill? ;-) No. bluebigrazz.gif You were going on as if all we needed to do was fling on some subs when in reality we had very little on the bench. Sibierski and that was about it really. Did you read my uber-post that replied to your initial comment about the subs? Cos i'm not going through it again.
