    Predict winners

Espanyol look fucking red hot. Do not want to have to face them.
  2. martins? The guy who scored two goals on Saturday, three goals in three premiership games, and our joint top goal scorer (who was also out for a month, i may add). Aye, just him. :grt:
  3. Was he? Ah right... didn't realise. Was gonna say - because we've seen nothing of him this term, whereas he got two or three sub appearances last season and was in the 16 quite a lot.
  4. As the title says. Where's he gone? :?
  5. If Duff comes back and performs - it'll be a major burden of our shoulders. He was shite before he got injured - he really, really need to kick on - or we've got a problem down that left hand side. It'll be a real weak link in the side if Duff can't start playing good football. We all know he can. Mind you, i had stood up for him by saying that he was a good player playing in a bad team, which is why he wasn't performing. If my theory is correct - he should come on in leaps and bounds. If he does, along witih Butt, Emre and Dyer, we'll have a really complete midfield. (Note exclusion of Parker ;-) )
  6. Couldn't even tell you the name of the show she's on tbh. ;-)
  7. Dead pleased for Blackburn aswell. Didn't expect them to win that group.
  8. Think i'll tell you on Saturday morning, when i know the squad. Couldn't tell you a thing now like. You're right - it is early.
  9. I don't need to argue. It wasn't a great performance unless we would have dominated the game, actually posed a threat on more than one occasion, and more importantly would have got a result. Great performance Small club mentality continues to filter through. Face the reality mate. We're not a Champions League battling club. We'll not qualify for the UEFA Cup. We probably won't even finish in the Top 8, it'll be a hell of an achievement if we do. We'll finish in the bottom half, probably 11th or 12th. Face the facts - we're one of the 'nice teams' that the Top 6 will enjoy playing against. As happy and optimistic as i am about our recent change in fortunes - we're in the same league as the Wigans, the Evertons, the Fulhams this season. And with the team we put out tonight - that eleven is worthy of a bottom three/four place. It was a great performance given the circumstances. And we'll never be a Champions League club again if our small club mentality lets us accept losses as "great" performances. It wasn't a bad performance. It was a great effort. But a GREAT PERFORMANCE? Wait, don't tell me, it was great because we showed true geordie spirit lyk omg If we said that it was a great result, then you'd be right. We're saying a great performance - which it was. That's not small club mentality. Saying it was a great performance after the Charlton game was small club mentality. And to be honest, it's the manager (Chairman) that is the reason why we're not challenging in the Top 6, not our fighting spirit.
  10. PSG are shite, if we get them in a later round (they finished second), i'd be dead chuffed. But they won't - they'll get hammered by a Champions League outfit.

  12. Whatever Thompers - i'm trying to have a reasonable argument. Honestly can't be arsed though when i'm 'talking shite'. Learn how to argue.
  13. It was a great performance in spite of that. Bollocks. If we are Darlington and had just lost that game 0-1 in the F.A Cup, it was a great performance. Premiership clubs that consider themselves top 6 material shouldn't describe any performance as "great" when so little chances were created and we lost the game. Great effort. Not a great performance. I was only listening to it on the radio... yet i know that it was a great performance. Some of the players we had in the squad would struggle to get into the Darlington side. So if Man Utd, Liverpool, or even Arsenal lost a game 1-0 in ANY circumstances to ANY team, do you think that any of their respective supporters would ever describe it as a great performance? Just comparing the mentality of ourselves and the clubs we're supposedly aiming to match. If they had a squad our size, and fourteen first teamers injured, and lost 1-0 at Chelsea while putting in that performance - yeah, i think Sir Alex woul dhave every right to be proud of his players. Proud of the players for their effort surely, but not for their great performance. You're just being daft. Considering the circumstances - it was one hell of a performance. We didn't deserve to lose. We didn't deserve to lose and it was a great effort from the team considering the circumstances. But it wasn't a great performance. Easy really. Sorry, but it was, considering the circumstances - there is no way that you can call that anything else but a great performance. Hell - even if we had we have performed like that with our first team - i would have been relatively pleased. Simply because we battled hard, and frustrated the hell out of the Champions. Had we have drawn 0-0, which is 1 point that we would have deserved, you'd be agreeing with me.
  14. Aye, they hadn't done well - but they only needed a win tonight to go through.

  19. Turned a corner most definitely. I would go as far as saying that if we had Nobby, Emre and Dyer - we'd have beaten them. The encouraging thing is - they all should be back in 7 days time. I'm confident we'll get a result over them, and if that means losing 1-0 tonight with a battling performance, i'll be well pleased. Would love to spank them at St James' - they deserve it. Excellent performance considering the circumstances. another mammoth performance from Steven Taylor, that's what it sounded like on the radio. And another encouraging performance from Martins - this time he wasn't totally anonymous against one of the top teams. I knew it'd never be a walkover. I knew that fighitng spirit would get us through the match. So unfortuante to have conceded that goal. Well done lads - we're on the up. HAVE to beat Watford, though.
  20. Palermo CRASHING AND BURNING. Bottom.
  21. Palermo currently heading out.
  22. Pathetic tbh if he goes with Rossi on RW and Milner at RB. Have either of them ever played there? We have a fourth defender sat there on the bench. Play him for God's sake.
