  1. If it were a change in his contract, then Owen would have had to agree to it. This obviously can't be the case because he hates Newcastle, has no loyalty to anyone but England, and will be off as soon as anyone decent puts an offer in, etc. What utter drivel, UV. Utter sarcasm, tbh.
  2. Surely if he were worth £9m, we'd have heard more about the guy, especially given that he's UK-based.
  3. My attitude towards Duff centres around the idea of "meh".
  4. Given Beye Caçapa Faye Enrique Milner Geremi Butt N'Zogbia Owen Viduka Subs: Harper, Rozehnal, Emre, Martins, Ameobi No need for wholesale changes. Caçapa and Faye worked well together and Enqrique looked good from an attacking perspective. Butt had his best game of the season against Everton, by an absolute landslide, and Milner and N'Zogbia pick themselves now that they're both fit, as far as i am concerned. Front two are obvious, imo. The only reservation i have is with Milner. He needs a rest and it fits in nicely with Emre coming back into the side, but it's really not a great idea changing it massively following the Everton game. We'll have a strong bench regardless so we'll see how it goes. Hopefully off to this one. Newcastle 1-1 Tottenham
  5. Wouldn't say ordinary, just hurrendously inconsistent. He's undoubtedly got supreme attacking ability. He's come on this season aswell, his goal against Man City - for me - the epitomy of his improvement as an EPL striker. Certainly frustrating, but i'm still excited about the guy.
  6. Me dad's first game was MacDonald's home debut!
  7. Just got this email off a pal of mine: "Check this story out: From what I gather,my Cousin Craig & his son went to SJP for the Prem game against Everton.Craig & Liam try to get to a game when they can while the whole family are over from Southern Spain every so often. Craig takes Liam to Malaga's matches usually & he's still going, despite CF's drop the 2nd tier recently. Being born out there & having grown up learning Spanish our Liam's quite fluent (very confident too but Wor Craig was a quietly confident type too) Now to the point- The two of them managed somehow to find their way into the players lounge after the game & were having a mingle amongst all our footy friends. They got chatting to big Mark Viduka & he must've assumed they were VIPS. Craig's talking about his bar out in Spain,Liam & his daughter Sophie being well learned in the lingo etc. Viduka has a brainwave & having discovered this, gets Wor Liam to translate to Jose Enrique. Before they knew it,there's the two of them in a conversation about tactics etc & an 11 year old acting as a full translator. Craig & Liam both got a drink out of the two players & I bet even Craig was offered a job for his son in the process. No doubt Liam got an auto graph or two beforehand....... I gather my cousin probably thought it might be wise to make an exit before the attention was on them & the small matter that they weren't really supposed to be there."

A lot can happen in one or two years ffs Elliotman. It's not like we're talking one game from the other here. We're talking seasons.
  12. Can Robinson actually hold a fucking ball?
  13. He'll flick it on now that Lescott's playing.
  14. Why can't he just say Poom? Like every other fucker on the planet. Porm ffs.
  15. Detest Motson, but the only other alternative is Jonathan Pearce; who is a good commentator, but has one of the most hideous voices on television.

For the record, i'm not half as against him as i used to be! Still think i had good reason for the 'vendetta' last season, though. He was never going to be the right signing last summer. Under Souness, aswell. It would have been Bellamy/Souness again, just multiplied. And under Roeder, well, he would have been immediately fed up with our mediocrity. Plus, we were supposed to be replacing Shearer, and his goalscoring record was pap. But he was mint at Bolton last season, and he's very experienced and very fast, and he'd probably do well here now. In saying that, all of his issues still remain and there is the age factor - his pace will start to deteriorate like OML said - and i wouldn't swap him for Owen or Oba.

Owen/Martins OUT, Anelka IN..... Nah Smith/Ameobi/Viduka OUT, Anelka IN... Aye.
  18. Have some f****** pride in your team and club man. Pathetic attitude. I don't especially agree with Sniffer, but i'd probably pin that label on those who want rid of the only world class player we've signed since Shearer '96. The same player who has started 17 games in 2 seasons and 2 months. Woodgate (world class imo) started more games than that, and he was here for 1.5 seasons. I think i'm up for giving him another season and, most likely, watching him bang in 15+ goals for us. If he's still in and out the team and not worth his wages, just let him go next year. Someone will always sign Michael Owen.
