Just the squad.

------------------------------ Given --------------------------------- Huntington -------- Taylor ------------- Ramage ------------ Babayaro Milner -------------- Butt -------------- Dyer ------------------- Duff ------------------ Martins ------------- Sibierski --------------------- Subs: Srnicek, Edgar, Emre, Parker, Rossi The defense stays as it is. It picks itself really - the only other defenders that we have available are youth players. Stick Edgar on the bench; going from only what i've heard - he appears to be the best defender in the youth/reserve side. Nice to have some 'nice' problems in the midfield again. I'd rest Emre - he won't be fit enough to start and i'd rather we saved him for the Carling Cup game on Wednesday - where he will be vital to us winning the match. Same goes for Parker really, although it's debatable whether he should be starting anyway. I think Duff will come back stronger, like Martins did. I used the excuse that he was a good player in a bad team, and that was why he wasn't performing. Now that we're better, he probably will be. I don't fancy the Dyer-Martins partnership, it's very pacy and can be effective - but it means that Martins is the one in the box, and Dyer is the one creating. I prefer Martins as the creator. His best partner is Sibierski - which means Dyer should be in the midfield, where i think he is more effective anyway. I think Roeder will probably go with Martins-Dyer though and start Parker alongside Butt. We'll win this one fairly comfortably i imagine. Now that we are scoring goals, we shouldn't have too much of a problem defeating them. Newcastle United 3-1 Watford Martins, Dyer (2)

Parker is often our best player when he plays, but he makes other players shite and unbalances the side. We play better without him. End of last season - he gets injured... we fly 5/6 places up the table. This season - he gets injured... we fly 5/6 places up the table.

Good good. Charlton are absolute wank. Can't believe they sacked Dowie and appointed someone who is arugably worse. Sounds familiar.
-
Riggott's underrated and has been something of a fans' favourite at Boro for the last couple of seasons. He's been injured recently but has always been fairly consistent in the Boro side. But he'd be nothing more than a stopgap... £4m on a stopgap? I'd rather we went for someone with a little more quality tbh. He's consistent and professional, but i can't really see him improving our defense. :? I like that, though.

Shame they're taking the mick, like i said earlier - we won it fair and square. Can't really blame them, i suppose. What's more of a shame though, is that Roeder doesn't regard it as a 'lesser tournament'. bluesigh.gif

Nobby Solano. But i think that in a year's time, i'm really gonna love Oba.

Emre/Butt, which is sad - because deep down i love Parker. But we are just more effective when Butt is holding the play, and spreading the ball - and Emre is charging through the middle. Emre seriously needs to work on his finishing, though. Yes - his goal against Reading was a belter - but he's missed far too many clear-cut opporunities this season. I just wish Parker's passing was better, then he could sit in the position that Butt plays. That way, i'd like to see what Parker-Dyer is like, because Dyer is a better player than Emre. This being my preferred midfield when fit: Dyer --- Butt --- Emre --- N'Zogbia Wish this would work: Milner --- Parker --- Dyer --- N'Zogbia I wouldn't say no to a centre-midfielder in January; it'd certainly be an improvement to the squad when you consider our injury troubles. Butt is getting on and will probably need replacing next season, Emre is inconsistent, Parker is somewhat enigmatic, and Dyer has an awful injury record. So long as it cost us nowt, though. I really like the sound of getting Lassana Diarra. Loan him in Jan with option to buy. Ideal replacement for Butt come next season.

Has Duff actually crossed a ball this season?

Bit harsh on the lad considering there's fuk all ever to aim for. Martins is usually in a shit position, and Sibby arrives four days later. If he ran to the line, then waited for those two to get in the box he'd have been tackled several times over. He should maybe start cutting inside and learning how to shoot, thought he was part striker when he joined? Aye, Sibi is slow - but he gets about the box and knows where to receive a ball. All of his goals have come from crosses. Agree about Martins, his positional sense inside the box is non-existant. But Milner's final ball is shit, simple as really. He's 20 years old, ffs. I doubt Nobby's crosses were world class at that age, either. Not saying he won't improve. Of course he will - he's great talent. This season though, his final ball's been shit. Don't really see how anyone can argue with that. :? If we had a target-man Milner would be assisting a hell of a lot more I'd disagree with that aswell... most of Milner's crosses are just drilled into the first or second man.

we should have more chance than Juve tbh Nah. Juve probably still hold the same high regard as they did beforehand. They're temporarily in a division below, a division which they are rightfully absolutely dominating. Unbeaten in 15 - 11 games won. 6 goals conceded - praise Jean-Alain.

Where does it tell u about your post count mate? I was taking the mick, mate. ;-) I'm presuming you're a newbie. It's just that this type of thread has been created millions of times, so people get adgitated when the likes of yours crops up. My 'post count comment' was taking the mick - because, that too, is a frequent thread topic.

Still going on about Klose. Like we were ever going to sign the World Cup's top goalscorer.

Does anyone know why my post count doesn't go up? :?

Cool. Nowt special i know, and by no means am i considering this the end to our silverware drought, but it's nice to get a trophy. We've won it fair and square after all.

How ignorant. Some of our most important goals this season have come from Milner crosses. His final ball has improved no end since he's been back. Not been ignorant, i know, he's planted one or two peaches. I can only count two actually... the Palermo one and the Vigo one. On the whole - his balls are generally pants.

Would love to hammer them.

I think Parker will be fit. If not, I reckon Dyer should play in CM and have Rossi or Luque as the other striker Agreed. Drop Pattison.

Fantastic draw for the Last 32... best we could have hoped for without a doubt. We get past them comfortably. Shit draw for the next one, though. Bremen-Ajax was the one to avoid, we got the next worst. AZ are arguably the best side in Holland at the moment, and beat Sevilla 2-1 IN Sevilla last night. They got to the semis the last time we were in it n'all. Luis Van Gaal is a very good coach. Shite. And, if by some masterstroke Fenerbahce knock em out, i don't facny a trip to Turkey.

Taylor. Already is in comparison to the rest of our defense. So pleased he has got back into form. He'll be a cracking player.

CLARIFICATION: LENS ARE THROUGH... NOT OB.
