  1. The price suggests he's four times better than Corradi. Another flop, then.
  2. Reason why i didn't pick any United attackers was because i can't see any one of them having an individual goalfest. I think the major thing that will help United win the league is that their goal tallies will be supremely spread out. And Ronaldo can't possibly have as good a season as he did last season, either, so i didn't bother. Can see Drogba mellowing out aswell given the inevitable midfield clutter over there. I was ambitious in my line-up; Bellamy and Diouf upfront... risky. :coolio: Think Bellers will have a good season as the main man down at West Ham, though. Worked for him at Rovers. Can see the likes of Arteta and Bentley really kicking off n'all.
  3. Wish i hadn't said owt about them defensive midfielders now. It's potentially a useful tip. Shit.
  4. Don't think anyone here is, tbh. IE - hating Owen cos he's on such massive wages. I'm just saying that he's done nothing more than Martins on the pitch, that justifies him being on £40,000-a-week extra, so Oba's entitled to a moan. More of a general comment. Do you think over a season, Martins would have the same effect as Owen? Owen has been here a season longer than Martins and Oba's still had a greater effect on the team.
  5. Looks a good team does that one, Bad Cat, especially if James has another good season for Pompey clean-sheets wise. Why i picked the likes of Distin tbh. Good attacking midfield n'all, which is what will work. Honestly don't see the point in having defensive midfielders... what do they do? They don't score goals and they don't contribute to getting clean sheets, atleast not any more than other midfielders.
  6. How is that not greed? Not saying i exactly blame Lampard, but you can't possibly get any more greedy. Turning down £130,000 a week because you could get £135k or £140k... that's pure greed man. If the offers are on the table you go for the most attractive one. People seem to take more offence due to the figures talked about but the principle remains the same. I love my job but i'd be off to our competitors if they offered £5k more. Obviously, no offence meant at all, but it's a bit difference with footballers to the likes of you and i. Rejecting £130k a week cos you could get £140k is just greedy.

  10. Not saying any footballer should be given £105,000 a week or whatever it is, but what the hell has Michael Owen done for us to justify being on £30/40,000 a week more than Oba? Harsh, the bloke has been injured for almost a year. His 7 goals in 14 appearances is an impressive ratio by anyone's standard. Thank God for those seven goals he got us at the start of the 05/06 season! How can anyone possibly argue that Owen has done just as much/more than Martins in his time here? Like i say, no footballer can justify being on such immense wages, but in comparison - Owen's done nothing, for us, to be the highest paid member of our squad - and by such a margin. As Vic said, Martins is entitled to a winge. Not that it'll make any difference. I can imagine he could winge all he wants but the guys at the top wouldn't do anything.
  11. he's done more tfor this club than little mickey FFS. more than entitled tbh That's the equivalent of saying John Barnes would have deserved the same pay as Shearer after the 1997/8 season. Hardly.

  13. When's Rocker on, if he weren't on tonight, then?
  14. Diomansy Kamara and Jason Koumas sold for £12m. Just what the fuck is football coming to?
  15. Christ... when i went out i was on Page 9. Has anything actually happened or is it all just discussion?
  16. We'd have to wait till January to play that team, like.
  17. ---------------------------------- Given ---------------------------------- Beye -------------- Taylor --------------- Campbell ---------- Bridge ---------------------------------- Diarra ---------------------------------- -------------------- Deco ------------------- Barton --------------------- -- Milner -------------------------------------------------------- Owen -- ---------------------------------- Viduka ---------------------------------- Jizz.
  18. £4m would be a superb deal. Can imagine he'll either stay at United, or go back into Europe though.
  19. Deco would be awesome. Double figures undoubtedly, but it would be foolish to go over £12/13m in my opinion, baring in mind that he's 30 years old this season. In regards to Eto'o though - surely not a chance? Can't be right - Samuel Eto'o? He'd never come here. We don't need another striker anyway.
