Most embarrassing result post Ferguson?
-
That media day seems like good craic like. You've got Longstaff carving a pumpkin in one corner, Miggy and Willock playing Guess Who in another. Isak whacking balls off saucepans over there and Bruno painting a Christmas tree awer there. All the seasons and all the craic in one afternoon.
-
Yeah that's the other thing about no subs... there's the fatigue but there's also the complete inability to make meaningful changes to our play. It's an incredibly limiting issue and it goes beyond just tiredness.
-
Not good enough for what? Your exacting standards? You've also called them awful, shit, and that you're "not having" the tiredness excuse.
-
There's nothing false about that statement. From my point of view this debate is about not piling on the squad and manager when they're shagged and out of options. I've never thought qualifying for the CL again was a realistic expectation, fwiw, and that's before I knew how much Villa and Liverpool would improve.
-
So emotionally negative. Aye it's not a good return. We also played some of those games with a bench made up of Prostar figures and crash dummies.
-
Our away form isn't good but I don't think it's cause for major concern. It's not like we're getting tanked every time we play on the road. Man City: meh. Brighton: dismal. Milan: gruelling, stayed in it, good point. Sheffield United: annihilated them. West Ham: good fightback, good point. Wolves: mixed bag, good point. Man Utd: exceptional Dortmund: not awful, deservedly lost Bournemouth: mitigating circumstances Paris: exceptional Everton: mitigating circumstances
-
It probably is when you have the luxury of even a single option on the bench.
-
Well we were more fatigued tonight because of the games which preceded it. And we'll be tireder still on Sunday, which is going to be miserable (hope everyone is prepared...) And if the same 11 face Milan, the levels won't be the same as they were in the previous home game ten days prior... They're just gonna get more and more knackered.
-
Away games are obviously more taxing than playing at SJP.
-
Honestly if you think either: they're not fatigued or their fatigue isn't a justifiable excuse, I dunno what to tell you. Lewis Miley has played every minute of the last four games. He's a boy ffs.
-
I think we'll probably be quite a distance from the CL race during the middle part of the season. However, if we're out of Europe come March and have something much closer to a fully fit squad, our run-in is fairly kind. If we do falter while the squad is this stretched, a late surge could well reignite our chances.
-
I mean, fatigue is one thing, there's also the fact that we're playing without our first choice keeper, without our first choice CB and our number 8 has barely finished his GCSEs. They're knackered and severely depleted.
-
If you don't consider West Ham as rivals to us they are, aye... Probably makes it a harder proposition on Sunday too.
-
Apologies, thought I'd caught them all.

Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)

I did say 'if' he carries on like that. Hopefully just rustiness like but there were some very iffy signs. Didn't think he looked confident at all; no command of his area, ropey on shots, flappy on crosses. -

Looked absolutely shite, like. We'll soon see the difference Pope make to our defence if Dubs carries on like that. Poor in every department really. -
Everton are absolutely nowt, like. The way their fans crack on is funny as much as anything. Enjoy your relegation battle, and next season's, and the season after that. Big scalp for them because they know we're a million miles beyond them.
-
Shit happens, Tripps.
-
Meh, let the Toffees enjoy it. They'll be in exactly the same position next season and the year after, celebrating rare wins that just about keep their heads above water.
-
Ah keep your dignity, lads.
-
BRB just turning off new registrations.
-
Painful one, like. It won't be the last this season/week.
-
He's made a couple of mistakes but we've been shite all over the park. Big chances missed by forwards just a contributing a factor.
