  1. Wow, go on Luton. By a distance the best of the promoted sides. Arteta has made such a shite call with this keeper. He's crap.

    St James' Park

Putting to one side the sickening notion of leaving SJP; knocking it down and starting again is arguably my least favourite option as the thought of knocking around at some temporary digs for a couple of years is truly repugnant and would probably set us back on the pitch. I'm starting to fear that a new stadium is the most likely outcome, eventually, and I'll have to just try and emotionally get behind that. I accept that, whatever they do with SJP, it'll never match the corporate utopias of other new/redeveloped arenas. Being there for Sam Fender was a bit of an eye-opener for me in terms of understanding its limitations purely as a 'venue.' Obviously echo everyone's thoughts about Castle Leazes and a land swap being the best of all 'leave' options.
  3. Lovely composure from Hwang. Gather that he's on a bit of a redemption arc atm? They used to hate him didn't they?
  4. Wilder back at Sheffield United is a bit of a microcosm of the state of PL management atm. Managers don't last particularly long meaning there's lots of changes; very few clubs have succession plans; the 'safe pair of hands' PFM crew are dying off; and it's seen as a gamble to appoint someone with no experience of your relative situation. All of that means your options are pretty limited and you see folks returning to former clubs. Moyes, Hodgson, Wilder... just a question of who's next. My punt is Dyche back at Burnley before the season's out.

    St James' Park

Indeed. So you're living in a 'dream world' if you think Newcastle being good is only possible if fans are rinsed for cash/being replaced by wealthier fans, are you? Hey ho.
  6. Thought Schar was extremely lucky not to get a card there. He overrun it and clumsily had to take both player and ball. Yellow would've been right. Even luckier that his janky touch didn't result in a breakaway tbh.
  7. He doesn't have this...
  8. was amusing. Enjoyed his very forthright "even if it is a pen the game is being ruined." Mad that the late penalty incident ends up vindicating its existence.
  9. Hopefully Howe will learn the lesson from Pardew in overhyping the fixture and losing the psychological battle before we've even stepped into the pitch. Of course it's massive to us fans but the players need to go into it like it's any other big game.
  10. It's brilliant but it's another stinking draw man. Not a chance he can rotate for that.
  11. Cheers matey. Just flicked ITV on and it's on there too.

    Match Atmosphere

Manager made the point (again) in his presser that the relentless home form is largely because of the SJP atmosphere.
  13. Since he stopped playing in pain, I'd say...
  14. This is the best team in my lifetime, like. I know Keegan's team were a brilliant team compared to their peers - the very best in the country for a few months - but the technical quality in this side is amazing. I can't remember having so much faith in so many players to do something useful-to-brilliant. The close control, vision, passing ability, bodywork, efficiency in the tackle... but behind that they're just mentality monsters. He's simply built a brilliant, brilliant team. We'll have our off days like everyone normal does, but most of the time - particularly at home - we're just awful, awful to play against. They're just a joy and God I adoring the Eddie Howe era.
  15. Said it before this season but it blows my mind so I'll say it again; he keeps getting better ffs. Absolute Man against Boy performance versus Garnacho tonight. Ridiculously good player; as good in defense as he is in attack.
  16. It's almost boring now. They haven't laid a glove on us for three matches straight.
  17. Pope: 7 - nowt to do Trippier: 9 - absolutely exceptional Schar: 8 - enthusiastic and dangerous Lascelles: 8 - rocksteady Livramento: 8 - classy as fuck Miley: 8 - seasoned box-to-boxer Bruno: 8 - pivotal Joelinton: 9 - my MotM Almiron: 8 - tireless Isak: 7 - pushed them back Gordon: 8 - clinical
