Dire effort from Gordon. Definitely very much in his own head tonight.
-
Pretty balanced I thought! It's there for us but we'll have to hope they keep missing chances.
-
Terrible game, poor performance, miracle we're not behind. But the longer it's level the more we should smell blood. Not particularly optimistic though.
-
Looking pretty ropey tbh like. Home side looking predictably galvanised. Always right up for it against us.

We are, we are... I'm just unmoved on my position from pre-season that we need to prepare for our upwards curve to tail off a bit. Granted it barely has so far, despite everything. Cos we've got a set of legends in the dressing room.

A point wouldn't be a bad outcome, like, when you consider what happened at Bournemouth. We're playing out of our skins atm; we can't expect these same lads to keep churning out unreal performances week after week after week. Top four this season is one hell of an expectation, like. To retain that place with all our additional challenges and the improvements of the likes of Spurs, Villa and Liverpool would be an outrageous achievement.

Sky's Fantasy Football back in the new year.

Absolutely dismal in the years either side of Hatem's missile. Wor Jonesy masterminded a win during the Covid season then there was last season's hilarity. We'll be up against it tonight. Would definitely take a draw.

People objecting isn't enough to refuse a planning application. If it worked in planning terms it would be approved. Biodiversity net gain is big on the planning agenda atm - whereby you have to have more biodiversity post-development than what exists to begin with... I know there are trees on Castle Leazes but you'd think there'd definitely be opportunities where that is concerned, especially with the land vacated by SJP.

Literally don't think there's a single player out there wearing long sleeves now. They've all but been replaced by the base layer.
-
Should do. They look stupid though, unless you get the necessary patches. Modern kits gonna modern kits.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/67637539 In a bizarre turn, Scarborough Athletic have been given another chance in the FA Cup, with their tie against Forest Green to be replayed at Scarborough. Quite why FG haven't suffered the same punishment as Barnsley, for the same offence, is a mystery.

The white shorts are sensational but they're definitely our alternates. Both BR and Kidzy's efforts are better than anything we've had since the early noughties. It shouldn't be difficult, man.
-
Bloke is such a fucking arsehole. Of course it's an entirely fair point about the schedule, but to chirp on about being disrespectful to a fellow professional as he did there shows quite the lack of self-awareness.
-
Villa sensational. Not necessarily similar in style but they do remind me of us. Very similar trajectories. We'll do very well to finish above them.

If the land on which the stadium currently sits was turned into a truly exceptional piece of open space that: A, remained part of the matchday experience/journey; B, had genuine and well-considered reflections or nods to SJP and C, improved the setting of the listed buildings that rightly stand in the way of developing the existing site... I could probably just about get behind shifting the playing surface a couple hundred yards. Of course there's the additional caveat that the new stadium would have to be something remarkable too, with genuine architectural flair externally and not a boring symmetrical bowl internally, with its spaces delineated by something other than solely advertising space, a la Spurs.

Low-vector version of the crest in 3... 2...

Ooo... beginning of the end of the stupid rounded chest template?
-
I think they'll just do what they normally do and end the season munching their way through every opponent like PacMan eating dots.
-
Don't really see the relevance of any title-winning-like victories. Man City will win the league no matter what.
-
This season has been absolutely bedlam like. Goals galore.
-
Bloody heartbreaking that.

I'd agree that the badge has less significance than the ground or the kit. But obviously you agree that some of the tangible things actually are 'the club' at least to some extent; the ground just isn't one of those things as far as you're concerned. But to some people, it is. Hopefully that helps to reduce some of your bafflement. ?

I mean, it is a bit. Which of the tangible aspects make a meaningful contribution to the intangible notion of 'the club,' in your view, if not SJP? Would you be arsed if we got rid of the badge? The stripes?
