  3. Mick Channon who used to wheel away and rotate his right arm like a windmill
  4. had a pretty decent career in Serie A with Fiorentina, Siena and a few other clubs --------- Nicky Banger
  5. maybe Stuart Pearce? I know he was old at the time (34) but Gullit got rid of him too fast and we again lacked any leadership at the back (as we still do)
  6. agree, these days there seems to be less top class strikers IMO especially compared to the 90's era and before that even
  7. Gabriel Batistuta phenomenal striker (was idolised by Fiorentina at the time so doubt he would've moved, same with Rui Costa) Hristo Stoichkov (would've cost a fraction of the price at the time) Davor Suker Bierhoff (would've suited EPL)

    Strachan

I liked this one but most of his quotes are crackers Reporter: "Gordon, can we have a quick word please?" Strachan: "Velocity" [walks off]
  9. Surely for a 32 year old with no major accomplishments in his footballing career (except winning the Turkish league over a decade ago) that's reverse logic? It's not like we're saying some unknown 18 year old is the next Pele based on his profile in a computer game. This is real life "accomplishments" we're talking about, and they're rather underwhelming to say the least.. shouldn't have signed shearer tbh
  10. english commentators are just boring with the predictable same old 'whatta goal' routine
  11. Yep, classier version of Bernard. Shame he got homesick in the end. and he since moved onto the likes of Leeds, Espanyol and now Olympiakos....can't get too much further away from home
