  1. I remember during his PSG days he was played up front, just off their main striker....don`t think he played regularly on the wing during his days at Montepellier either from what I`d heard....just when he came here.
  2. Tino, get yer boots back on http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/02/04/tino-backs-toon-army-to-help-beat-arsenal-72703-28113448/?

  4. and he is/was(?) engaged to Leilani Dowding
  5. yeah I got the same response when I asked about him on a Rennes fan forum earlier.
  6. Laurent Robert At least he has a pop at goal now and again....more often that not ending in row z
  7. Dida Marko Babic Stern John Edgar Davids Cosmin Contra Andy Van Der Meyde Layrea Kingston Quinton Fortune
  8. According to Rennes fans forum "talented left footed, with a good technique and great passing. But he is injury prone."
  9. would take him till the end of the season but looks like he`d doing a Winston Bogarde and just prefer to pocket the cash despite not even being registered.
  10. Claudio Lopez! Bonaventure Kalou Malcolm Christie
  11. nee idea...but he's a bit of a hero at Galatasaray apparently for the goals he scored for them. Was great at Monaco too but that was years ago. PS: about Aliadiere...Pardew fell out with him at Charlton
  12. Shabani Nonda also available on a free...Galatasaray just released him from his contract a few days ago. Marteja Kezman was until recently also, just signed a short term contract for a Hong Kong team (not sure if it's a pay as you play type thing) Full list http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list?position=Centre+Forward&class=Free+Transfer&name=FullName&page=1#
  13. Carroll has come in for criticism for leaving his hometown club but he insists he is now fully focused on becoming a success at Anfield. "I’ve got massive respect for Newcastle," he added. "It’s my team, it’s my home club, so I’m not going to talk about what happened at Newcastle other than my friends and family are still there and Newcastle means a lot to me but I’m a Liverpool player now and that’s all I need to concentrate on. "It was last minute but the transfer hasn’t got anything to do with me. I’m here now and am just going to play my football at Liverpool. I’m really happy." http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/4992/0/i-can-cope-huge-price-tag-says-liverpool-new-boy-carroll
  14. sacked by Sheffield Wednesday
  15. protesting doesn`t/hasn`t worked in the slightest.....not turning upto matches in the droves might....but doubtful
  16. here`s Fat Freddy with his say http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/black-white/i_wouldn_t_have_sold_carroll_freddy_shepherd_1_3036051
  17. good shout that....was supposedly on the way to West Brom but I guess it didn`t happen. Certainly could do a job. Had a pretty good goal record (1 in 2) at Dortmund and Zaragoza. Just reminded me that a bunch of S.American players would be out of contract as their Apetura/Clausura finished in Jan. Sadly nowt will happen though.
  18. Fanny Jeffers http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-news-Francis-Jeffers-former-Everton-Arsenal-England-striker-set-for-talks-with-Motherwell-also-wanted-MLS-New-England-Revolution-article688597.html
  19. he`d probably still be the 4th choice striker and not get a chance anyway with Best, Lovenkrands, Ranger ahead of him

  21. I thought his family were scousers? He's a big Everton fan because of his dad. yeah he/his father his an Evertonian but he said he has family here too....see last question in below link (also mentioned in another article that he has even been to St James` Park and loved the atmosphere here) http://www.thesportreview.com/tsr/2010/02/lewis-holtby-exclusive-interview/ another interesting read about the lad. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1317998/Lewis-Holtby-How-did-England-miss-boy-Midas-touch.html
  22. used to be at Leeds and Sheffield United.....speaks good English and as you say one of the top coaches in S.America. Pardew out
  23. any opinion on Lewis Holtby? English father but plays for Germany U-21's (English FA knew nowt about him)....doing well on loan at Mainz. Heard he's got family from Newcastle and travels here now and again to visit...........might be worth a punt in the summer if our scouts know anything. Certainly looks a very good prospect.
  24. through the "outstanding young talent" rule I presume (like Man Yoo did with Anderson). Any players you could have him mind? Dentinho? Looks a great player but not sure how realistic it is. From Argentina, Rogelio Funes Mori is a very promising striker and speaks English (having grew up in the states). Btw, Blackburn got a bargain in Mauro Formica. Whether it`s a gamble or not, 3m is peanuts....certainly some potential bargains in S.America if we have scouts there. We need Mirandinha, Solano, Acuna on the case! Dentinho is a good player, but very injury prone and very how'd you say, he loves himself a bit too much. But players who might be to big for us now after all their hype are Lucas from Sao Paulo Ganso Neymar But i'd look to sign a player like Jucilei who is very technically gifted and can play everywhere across the midfield. He also got his first call up to the national team and is a calm player and also very strongly built. I think he would do very well in the Premiership. However, Juventus and Paris SG are teams looking at him. But playing him in the midfield with Tiote would be immense, bar the language barrier. The guy Jonas Goncalves from Gremio cost Valencia only £1m also.....not seen him play before but 21 goals in 33 games and top scorer in the Brasileiro is not too shabby too.
