  1. I know they lost but Almeria scored a quality goal on the break
  2. hope to see him back at the club in some capacity...at least a scout for us in South America perhaps.
  3. from the past: Lee Clark http://www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/content/images/2006/09/13/lee_clark_early_203x152.jpg David Meyler http://i.goal.com/files/images/stats/goal/player-images/39/26139_186x236.jpg Milner http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Sport/Pix/pictures/2010/8/10/1281470955039/James-Milner-006.jpg OHara http://images.mirror.co.uk/upl/m4/oct2009/5/1/jamie-o-hara-pic-getty-618221723.jpg
  4. aye...you're right there. Looks like Nolan might just edge ahead in that department by the end of the season if he can nick a few more (no scouser pun intended).
  5. who was the last midfielder to get 12+ goals from midfield for us? aye I know Nolan plays a bit further up front but still....... Gary Speed? Not even sure if he managed more than 12 in a season? or Rob Lee way back in the day?
  6. Xisco back in the starting XI from injury and on the scoresheet for Deportivo....currently winning 2-1 against Mallorca.
  7. Coloccini has consistently been putting in top notch performances all season and importantly been injury free for most of the season.....just edges Enrique for the latter reasoning. :colo:
  8. Russia's Kuban Krasnodar beat up player for refusing to leave the team, pays him for his troubles Kuban Krasnodar sure know how to make a player feel unwanted. The Russian Premier League team agreed to pay $256,000 in damages to Nikola Nikezic, who says he was beaten up by the club after refusing to void the final year of his two-year contract. http://origin.nydailynews.com/blogs/the_beautiful_blog/2011/03/russias-kuban-krasnodar-beat-up-player-for-refusing-to-leave-the-team-pay
  9. so we`re going to miss out on Mario Gomez....ph well http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/6263/6/newcastle-blow-%C2%A312m-gomez-nears-napoli-move?
  10. would be a hell of a signing though I can't see it happening at all.
  11. REAL football fans support their club until the day they die - but one went a step further by attending a game AFTER his death! Fanatics of Colombian side Cucuta Deportivo snuck a coffin carrying the body of Cristopher Jacome into the General Santander Stadium prior to their game against Envigado. http://www.eltiempo.com/deportes/futbol-colombiano/IMAGEN/IMAGEN-9081975-2.png http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3498918/Cristofer-Jacome-watches-local-team-Cucuta-Deportivo-even-though-hes-dead.html
  12. Who brings a banana to the game? http://mit.zenfs.com/210/2011/03/robertocarlos_banana_div_3.jpg

  14. so any Yanks gonna tell us about Juan Agudelo? Seems a prospect....heard about him before his goal against Argentina but not seen much of him....or the new Altidore? ie: overhyped.
  15. soz haven't looked through the thread.....
  16. Probably a better pitch than some of the 5 a side pitches in England...nice story. -- Koh Panyee is a small village in Thailand that is entirely built on stilts over the water, that was created by the fishermen. In 1986, despite having no land or area to play football, they were determined to start their own football team and play the game. It is now one of the most successful youth soccer clubs in Southern Thailand, even though they have not even got an inch of proper/real land.
  17. bit surprised at the low release clause tbh....Spanish clubs usually have some ridiculous buy out fee. Though not exactly a prolific goalscorer ,but strong, quick, good on the ball and he would certainly be worth having for 5m euros IMO.
  18. Dzeko......well he's not impressed IMO...especially for that 30m price tag I know it's early doors though .....
  19. Bruce: I tried to sign Carroll - but Wigan couldn't afford Newcastle's £4.5m asking http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1366598/Steve-Bruce-I-tried-sign-Andy-Carroll--Wigan-afford-Newcastles-4-5m-asking-price.html#ixzz1Gkey2rnxml?
  20. there`s a related video interview with him and Cana through BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/9425303.stm?
  21. well close enough....the brother of ex mackem Tobias Hysen anyway (story from last week, so apologies if a repost) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1364501/Anton-Hysen-son-Liverpool-star-Glenn-reveals-hes-gay.html#ixzz1GUYr7nLw
