He only barely managed it with us, and we're a much bigger club than Derby. It would be much, much harder to reach that ceiling with a Derby than a NUFC, and in all likelihood that ceiling would be lingering in the mid to bottom half of the championship with Derby. Let's not forget that he lucked his way into having one of the best managers of the last 20 years here and we still went down and then only just managed to stay up. His successor then had the two jammiest seasons I've ever seen, and still only just managed to stay up (much thanks to the defensive solidity) of his predecessor. Neither of those things happens at a club like Derby, so I really don't see how A****y gets them anywhere near the PL gravy train.

Absolutely loved the pre match presser. It's not just about saying the right things, which he does, it's about how (Howe? No? OK then) he says it. We always seem to get well measured answers that seem very genuine. With Bruce, everything was either antagonistic, blatant lies, covering his own arse or my personal "favourite" wholly inaccurate. I used to really hate it when he did his "we've only lost 2 out of the last 8 or 9", when in fact it was 4 losses in 6 or something.
