I remember them breaking a couple of records some 6 years ago

See it what we will do.

I mean, I get where he's coming from, but . I should preface this by saying that I fully expect to lose today, and would bite your hand off for a draw. That said, I think that both Spurs and Newcastle fans are accused of delusion more than most, and so I'll add this post to the one above: So now Liverpool are better than us at goal difference, and also (he says) Opta etc. And, of course, there will be several posts saying they're better man for man. And the reason we are currently 12 points ahead of them (in a league where less than 12 points separate the bottom eleven teams) is simply luck, bad officials and illness/injury. Despite the fact that we've actually been consistently ahead of them in the physioroom table, missing key players for extended periods of time. God, I hope we beat them yet again. What would their rationalization be then? I think you'll win tbh. Just let them win the passing and counter attack them with Lennon and Bale.

Didn't Pardew say that he would be involved yesterday? See no quotes in that Mail article btw, not trusting them at all.

Who the hell is this TC_16? Seems like a lovely chap.
-
Yes. to which one ? Absolutely yes for playing Gouffran through the middle if Cisse doesn't make it.
-
I thought that was noticeable on quite a few occasions yesterday, both teams struggled to beat the first man with any of the set pieces for example. Thats really not that unusual for us I know, but as it happened to both teams, I thought there might be something in it.

He was indeed excellent last night.

Elliot Debuchy Taylor Yanga-Mbiwa Santon Cabaye Tiote Jonas Sissoko Gouffran Cissé Really hope Cissé is fit, but even if he is, I can see Pardew wanting to play Shola against Stoke.

Well they are through on a score draw. but you'd think if we were favourites to go win the game we'd be favorites to go through. on the match odds the draw is quite the outsider. What about the odds for Anzhi/draw compared to us winning? That's what you should be looking at. If we are only slight favourites to win, then I wouldn't think it's weird at all that they are favourites to go through with the away goal rule being the way it is.

and to be fair he's played quite well. Aye, however he obviously has no future here, while Santon and Haidara both do, and are IMO better full backs. I won't be on Pardew's back for playing Simpson next week, just saying that I personally wouldn't.
-
I hope they both play next Thursday like. Don't think Pardew will drop Simpson though after we've kept two clean sheets in Europe with him playing.

What the absolute f***? That's just Oakie I have absolutely no idea whether he is serious or not
-
Aye, that save from the low shot from Etoo was class

We defended well and they didn't really seem to be that interested in scoring. Second half was a bit better, but still quite a boring game for any neutral, I would imagine. Pardew had it spot on today like, very brave to start with Hatem up front on his own, and even though it didn't quite work, I was happy to see it.
-
Stop this, please. Even more ridiculous now that Ben Arfa is back. Really like the look of Haidara, but talks about playing him over Santon are a bit daft IMO.
-
Yanga-Mbiwa looks class.

I understand the logic. With Colo definitely out and Taylor made of glass, better not risk him in a game we're likely to lose anyway. Aye, fair enough. Interesting that Perch appears to be ahead of Williamson.
-
Shame that it's Perch and Simpson instead of Santon and Taylor, but I'm really excited about this game now.

Welcome back, how we've missed you
