Well then, no new RB. Simpson until January it is. Pity.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

I think Carroll would do well in Italy. Not sure he wants to go there himself though. -

Aye, to his wife about when he was to come home
-
And a good team that many players would want to be part of. The normal thing to do now would be to push for two signings and get them done. An outlay of £1.8m this summer is fucking shambolic.

Rooney, £6m

That'll never happen, though. ? seems to be pretty close to be honest It does. Hate to say it but I'm worried about facing that front 4. I reckon they worry about Cissé Ba Cabaye Ben Arfa ...as well.

Having dealt with Raiola already, I'm guessing we wouldn't bother bidding for him again if he isn't interested. I'd be very happy with this btw.

Some Dutch journalists saying the same thing, €8m bid. Not sure he turned us down...? We've already dealt with Raiola this summer, could be hearing good things from Anita as well. #clutching

@MsiDouglas: Reminder to follow @cunninghampaul, who will be putting Journal back page up on Twitter later. #strikernews -
Debuchy would go a long way to satisfy my expectations for this summer and excite me for the season. Carroll on top of that would be impressive. What bothers me is that we're probably focusing on the Carroll deal because it represents some sentimental and personal value to Ashley, whereas Debuchy would improve us in the only position we're actually in actual need of some improvement. Otherwise the squad needs to be put into perspective. While we definately overachieved last season - it's going to be hard to better those results regardless of who we sign in the next few days - the players have had time to gel even more. Krul is still our goalkeeper, he's gained a year of experience and established himself. Our back four is better than last year because Santon has got a year of experience and Perch has improved significantly. We might also get a full season out of Steven Taylor. In midfield, we've practically switched Guthrie for Anita, who could well turn out to be a very good player. Guthrie is still a loss, but Anita will be very, very useful. On top of that, we have Ben Arfa fully fit from the start, Marveaux back playing and Bigirmana who looks promising. The strikeforce looks a bit weakened. I don't think Lövenkrands departure means anything, but Best played a quite big role last year. It's hard to judge what impact the emergence of Campbell will have as we have no idea to what extent he features in Pardew's plans, but with him being an option, Cissé, Ba and Shola, we will manage bar the ACN. Signing Carroll would mean we go into the season with one of the best strikeforces in the league.

I'm feeling fairly certain we'll sign him. If not now then we'll do it in January. Reckon Liverpool will want to get rid now though. -
I still like him for some reason. I don't agree with much of what he says at times, but there is still something refreshing about him.

Marvellous performance on that day. The foundation of the scoreline. -
Like the first bit in bold doing whay you say in the 2nd? We have a good team = weakest link not necessarily that weak. I think he's shit btw. New RB is crucial if we want to adapt a more fluid passing game, which seems to be the aim.
-
So we lack flair and Ashley should pay money for Debuchy in order to put that right? I've seen far more pathetic behaviour by owners than Ashley's negotiation tactics, however frustrating it may be at times.

Try coming to Manila. All we have is a national team of half-bloods who play once every two months. The only ground in the city is a 20k seater, and it only gets up to 8k unless it's a World Cup qualifier. Our main chant is a mix of hysteric screaming and We Let the f***ing Dogs out. At least you have a club. We don't. Yeah, I could have it worst I suppose, even if that is unbelievable because the Airtricity League is very poor. Can only dream of having a big club like Newcastle to support in the stadium every week and see the likes of Ben Arfa. Sweden had a team in the Champions League in 1999. Djurgården played Juventus in a qualifier 2005, other than that we've been entertained by Gefle IF and Ljungskile. At least our national team does OK occasionally. Couldn't imagine being able to see Ben Arfa in flesh every other week. Unreal.

Good point. I think we're about to find out if Ashley is the real deal or just not that arsed. This is said in every transfer window, we know exactly what the policy is. Yep was going to say it but couldn't be bothered, as you said that line must be posted every single window. Difference this time should be that we have someone lined up to replace them within the given time limit. Not go in weakened because we have a policy of accepting high enough bids.

I'd like it if it just read: I haven't been able to find out anything, so instead of guessing and paraphrasing other papers, I'll just wait for tomorrow. / Lee

Better to feed RM than Citeh like the scum do I suppose. The fact is that we're not big enough to keep Modric, Bale or Sandro and they will go after a while. I think RM loan or sell with buy back clauses, I'd rather get something if we're going to lose the players anyway. How did he make that list? He's very, very good and will only get better. I reckon him and Vertonghen will be their next assets after Bale.

They really don't know anything... http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/9894976.Newcastle_braced_for_big_name_offers_in_the_final_week_of_the_window/

Would love that. Instead: Reasonably slow week at work in front of Twitter and this god forsaken board.
-
Looking on Twitter it seems as if Times is saying he rejected Fulham "because he wants to join NUFC"?
-
............. and Spurs sign partnership agreement with RM. Bale on his way there next season. Don't get what you'll benefit from this. Not really a mutual willingness to help eachother, more likely that Real will pick some of your best players every now and then while you loan Callejon and Granero.

Fuck this week btw. Always ends in despair it feels. Hoping for something is just fooling yourself and feeling a constant fear of losing someone important.
