Unbelievable that we haven't signed him with us working towards a deal for about six months, him publicly explaining how he wants to join us etc. Their valuation isn't out of order by any means. Really hope there is another twist here and they are forced into selling him as we approach deadline day. If we get him and don't loose anybody, I'll be happy with the window. Simpson still sticks out like a sore thumb in our best XI.

He's going to have a stormer of a season. Looks like he's back to his best fitness wise as well now. Can't wait to see him against some of the lesser teams.

Based on performances in the last year, Fletcher. Accounting for Carroll's previous achievments here and potential, definately the latter. I'd still have Carroll over Fletcher if given the choice.

To me he is Juan Mata with speed and more urgency to his game. Great balance and loads of trickery. Also a very good passer of the ball.

I'd personally prefer to have both Ba and Cisse playing for us. They are both fantastic strikers, and if one doesn't seem to be at the races, you can count on the other to grab a goal. Never argued that we should get rid of Ba, I think it would be madness. However, if we want to play 4-3-3, I think a winger like Johnson would cause more trouble than Ba is from that left wing spot.

I honestly don't think Ba has been "performing brilliant" in the LW role. He's been good enough but there's definately room for improvement. When we moved him to left wing, it wasn't just that his goals dried up. His performances were worse and he was subbed just about every game. Ba has played his best football for us through the middle and is a brilliant player on his day, I love him, but I still think the dynamics of a 4-3-3 could be improved with a natural winger to support the CF.

Very decent on his day but very inconsistent. I think City will have got the best out of the deal if they manage to secure Sinclair for similar/less cash. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen him have an absolute stormer at either club or international level. He'll certainly improve their first XI but he's not going to ever be the signing of the century unless Artie can make him a bit more consistent. I wouldn't want him, but then that's more to do with the fact I don't know where he'd fit into our side. We'd basically be spending £10 million on Obertan's replacement because I can't see him getting onto the pitch for us when everyone is near full fitness. He'd be perfect in a 4-3-3 if we take Ba out of the equation, who's best position is till CF.

Both good signings tbh. Price for Fletcher is still mental but he's a decent striker. As for Johnson, when on top of his game there are few winger more potent going forward in the league. Very direct and efficient as well. Can't believe he's even considering them.

Assuming they flew straight there? Aye probably. If Shola's out he might be there to fill out though.

I'd like to see him start in the LC or Europa League and see him for longer than 10 minutes and whether he can grow into games. He's managed to impress in very little time the two times he's come on now. His pace could be very useful come the end of games aswell. Charachter seems spot on, almost moved by his appreciation for everything. What a good example for young players coming through, this is how you should conduct yourself. Such a difference from Ranger etc.

You got that bit right. I did but I know why now. We signed Robert after he played in the Intertoto but he was still allowed to play for us in Europe that season. But we didn't play in Europe that season...

Yep, won't budge for their demands but rather wait for the situation to spiral out of control for Liverpool. He'll definately come back eventually.

I know it's one game. But he really gives defenders an option when he comes deep to pick it up. And it's not sideways passes after that, he finds players in space all the time and allows us to move forward. Imagine him threading those passes through to Cabaye and Ben Arfa. He'll be a very good signing if we play him with Tioté and Cabaye.

Devastating to hear that about Obertan. Hope he picks himself up.
