Not convinced by Sigurdsson really, but he might be worth a gamble. Some great young talent in Gothenburg overall. Gustav Svensson as replacement for Butt would be good. I know Villa are interested in him. Gojko Kacar would be a great signing!

Marseille really don't look like scoring, ruining my day...

Bojan Djordjic actually won the title with AIK in Sweden last year, and was one of their most influential players. About his level though, first time in his career he's actually produced something in terms of football rather than headlines.

Sweden robbed against Wales, perfectly good goal by Toivonen disallowed. Simon Church looks very good for Wales.

If he's awesome, then Sven is a god and that's not logic. So no he isn't awesome, he's a boring, conservative manager who will be happy to win Nigeria a couple of points at the world cup. Otherwise you have to define awesome for me. I just did. What do you expect from a team consisting of players who are struggling at international club level coming up against Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Holland and England? He did fantastically well to beat Spain for example with players like Petter Hansson, Christian Willhelmsson, Erik Edman, Marcus Allbäck, Anders Svensson etc. all being vital parts of the team. Look at how good they've been on club level, almost all of them have shown that they're not good enough to compete on the highest level. It almost applies for Johan Elmander too. The few players that you'd actually expect to be up for it at that level are Källström, Ibrahimovic, Mellberg, Ljungberg and to some extent Isaksson - although his career didn't turn out that good either.

Lagerbäck is awesome for international management. We have been punching above our weight for a long time and it will show now that Lagerbäck is gone and Hamrén is in. Look at our players and where they play, it's a miracle that we were able to knock Argentina out of a World Cup and push Holland to penalties in Euro 2004, especially considering the fact that Ibrahimvic hasn't been the reason. Sweden U21 just beat Portugal 2-0 away, amazing finish from Erton Fejzullahu for the first goal.

Ryan Taylor right wing, Guthrie in the middle. Nolan off for me... Maybe Ranger for Best later on. -

Not convinced by your logic there. Haha me neither, would have been easier to understand in Swedish... Not a single game where he isn't offside for less than 50% of the time. -

Carroll is always offside for more than 50% of the game -
Who do you want to finish 4th in the Premier League?
AlanSkÃrare replied to bealios's topic in Football
Villa since they've been building patiently and properly. If Everton still had a chance I'd say them too, but they're too far off. I think Villa is one really good striker away from being as good as/better than Liverpool. Shame they lost Barry to City. Would be so funny if they get the CL spot instead of them now though. I want City to fold, Spurs to go down (mainly because fo Redknapp) and Liverpool to finish outside the European places. -
Surely we need strikers with a bit of pace since Lövenkrands isn't getting younger and is a very limited footballer competing on a higher level. How has Podolski been doing at Köln? Is he too expensive? Rasmus Elm(Alkmaar), Skjelbred, Gustav Svensson(IFK Göteborg), Emir Bajrami(Elfsborg), Mathias Jörgensen(FCK) are all players we should be looking at from Scandinavia.

Jonas is in the squad for their game vs Germany on 20th of March, means he'll miss our game at Bristol C, right?

I got really interested in football in 1994 (aged 6) because Sweden did so well at the WC. Two years later my grandparents went through England by car on their way up to Scotland, and bought me an alarm clock with the club chest on. Love at first sight.

Carroll seems to be coming in to form as of late, I think he can get around 20 if he's given enough starts..

Stephen Carr, WTF has happend?

I think your draw is very good, Switzerland aren't very good and Buglaria rely on the Petrovs and Berbatov, but it is never going to be enough. Great draw for Sweden. Netherlands will walk the group but we'll definately edge out Finland and Hungary for 2nd. We ALWAYS draw Hungary and France/Romania seem to have the same tendency. Germany-Turkey should be good games, as will Denmark-Norway and our games vs Finland.

Derby County Vs Newcastle United - Tues 9th Feb - 19:45 KO

My first away game ever, last time I was at a game was 1-5 at home to Liverpool last season so here's hoping for an improvement to that. We need to stick with the same team except for Lövenkrands in place of Best maybe. Of course Colo should start if fit.. Looking forward to this so much, really hope to see somepne else than David Edgar on the scoresheet. -
Sir Bobby was the last manager to complete a full season on a managers contract, wasn't he? Remarkable when you think about it. 04/05: Bobby, Souness 05/06: Souness, Roeder 06/07: Roeder, Pearson(last game of the season) 07/08: Allardyce, Keegan 08/09: Keegan, Hughton, Kinnear, Shearer 09/10: Hughton appointed manager after a few games...
