What is he on about? "Our form was extremely good when I left". WE HADN'T WON FOR 8 GAMES. And he refers to the WBA win when he wasn't even in charge. Selfobsessed, lying idiot and a shit manager. "A lot of pressure on the two young lads, Shola and Carroll - the two youngsters." Did he confuse Shola with Ranger or is he just plain stupid? They don't come any worse than Kinnear. I'd seriously consider shutting NUFC out of my life if he was made in charge again.

What kind of an offer is that anyway? "If I'm not selling the club during the summer, you can have a 2-year contract now." "Ok, thanks Mike, I'll wait three months and then get back to you." Wow, these guys...
-
That last line, "local influence is important here"...Shepherd?

Before the end of August, 1 or 2 will probably come in. This guy seems to know what he's talking about..
-
"Doing quite well, I wish there would have been an announcement"...hmmmm

It hurts even more because it reminds me of what our policy was like when Sir Bobby was manager.. Young, raw and british talent. Bellamy, Jenas, Woodgate, Ambrose, Milner etc. Then Freddy had his say and it turned into Kluivert, Carr and Butt, if you are to believe Bobby that is.

What about Llambias's quotes from last week saying "a deal is very close, could be completed next week"? Were they denied or confirmed anywhere?

Don't understand why people are having a go at Thomo tbh, all he's done is told us what he supposedly knows. If it turns out to be wrong it's a pity but I can't see no reason to try and prove him wrong beforehand...

We definately need to sign a replacement asap. The lack of pace in our strikeforce now is equal to us playing Geoff Horsefield and Steve Howard. Not that Martins used his pace in the best of ways, but he scared defenders and had the balls to try and go at them..

I think the fact that people abroad - like in Sweden - can watch pretty much any Premier League game they want to, will mean that the big clubs will get even more global support. Wolves, for example, have a great support in Sweden because they were on every now and then in the 80's, but if the kids of today sit themselves in front of the TV, they'll choose to watch Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U or Liverpool ahead of Bolton, Wigan, West Ham, Villa etc. any day of the week.

I got this wake-up alarm clock with the club chest on it when I was 7 years old, was already a football maniac and loved Shearer (this was before his signing), my grandparents bought it when they went through Newcastle on their way to Glasgow. A couple of months later I was wearing my first Newcastle top in school and told my friends that Ginola was the best player in the world when I had actually never seen him play.

Really nervous. If something doesn't happen we'll be in big trouble, even if we don't go into administration. Sure there is enough quality in the squad to reach promotion, but none of these players wants to be here. They won't fight for the cause. I think we'll have a very poor start to the season if Shearer doesn't come in.

Keirrison to Barcelona, 14M + 2M Euro, will be going out on loan this season.
-
Eto'o has signed for Inter tonight according to Spanish media, his agent says major steps forward were made in the last couple of hours and that the deal is expected to be completed tomorrow. Zlatan will fly to London to hook up with Barcelonas squad immediately. Eto'o will get 11M euro per season and a massive bonus if they win the Champions League. Most suprising and interesting transfer of the summer imo.

This situation is awkward enough, couldn't do us any harm.

Why can't Shearer come in on the rolling contract that Calderwood/Hughton is on? There really seems to be no end to this downward spiral...
-
He is, trust me. I can see him forcing his way into your midfield in his first season. Huge potential.

Elm was in Liverpool on Friday according to Swedish media, the deal will probably be sorted within a week. Great signing for Everton. Is Bellamy about to leave City then? Surely he's not going to play much with RSC, Adebayor, Tevez, Robinho etc. ahead of him..? Still can't understand why they don't splash all this money on a class right back and a CB (won't get Lescott or Terry)..
-
Marcus Berg has signed for Hamburg for about £9,5M and in todays papers they say that Rasmus Elm - by many considered to be the greatest Swedish talent since Zlatan - is very close to signing for Everton in a £5M deal. Elm would be a typical Moyes signing. Excellent passer of the ball and reminds a bit of Arteta in his style of play. Only 21 years old and doesn't cost too much in todays market considering his growing reputation.

Deal done according to Swedish media. Strange move from Barcelona as Eto'o is more appropriate in their system with his runs and his one touch finishing. Zlatan is, in my opinion, a more skilled footballer and a better player individually, but not as functional as Eto'o. He's good on the ball and likes to create chances on his own. I think he might slow their tempo down. Could turn out fantastic though with him and Messi linking up.

It really is unreal. Everytime you think things can't get worse, they get worse. In one way or another everything has to fail for us. That last hope, the feeling that a turnaround in our fortunes could be just around the corner, is fading away, slowly but surely.

Laurents brother Bertrand or Fabian. They're both playing in the french League. I think we were linked with Bertrand a couple of years ago..

Good backup for Carew and Heskey but he'll be expensive right now.
