Some game this...Nerves are outside of my body, what a feeling if we could get three points out of this. Could prove to be one of the most important wins ever. Shearers learning-curve looks very good considering he's left out Nolan and Taylor. Only thing I have to complain about is Duff in place of Jonas. But Jonas could provide us with the necessary injection, together with Barton, should we struggle to break them down..

I think he was slower than ever when he appeard against Hull, constantly losing the ball due to his lack of pace. Although, we're struggling to get balls into the box at the moment, which is something he is more than capable of. I would have put him on for R.Taylor after 45 mins against Spurs...

The players will have to be well fired up for this one. If we can get Barton and Martins to start, and if Shearer abandons his 3-5-2 nonsense, I think we have a good chance of winning.

I thought we saw something very different in the last half-hour or so. As soon as Viduka and Martins came on, we offered something in the last third and with Gutierrez and possibly Barton playing behind those three in the forthcoming games, we'll get goals. First half was poor, but mainly due to the fact that Shearer got his selection wrong again. We have to play with a flat back-four, it's way too confusing for our defenders to shift that formation in this critical time. Nolan offers nothing going forward or in defence. If we're going to stay up we need Barton back as soon as possible and Shola never to feature again. I think Shearer learnt one or two things about his squad today.
