  1. For some reason I thought that we couldn't possibly go back to this(the Souness, Roeder, Allardyce -esque stature) when Keegans fortunes turned in April. There was a feeling that we would go back to winning home games and beating weaker opposition on a more regular basis as well as make some smart signings. Everything looked to play out like that until the whole managerial-saga unfolded and we got stuck with a mental manager - who seems to have nothing but motivational skills - and an owner that suddenly doesn't seem to be able to make up his mind. I find it incredibly hard to believe that Mike Ashley will ever invest properly in the club after putting it up for sale, and the squad definately needs refreshing if we are to compete with the teams we're supposed to be competing with. My main worry is that too many clubs similar to NUFC are going in the right direction - or will go there, but we're just not likely to turn the corner anytime soon.
  2. Gutierrez has been given space and look, wonderful stuff again...Carroll slipped when he should have scored.
  3. Worst news in a long, long time.
  4. To be honest, I really trust our scouting team to come up with someone when the time comes. Won't judge them on Xisco. I'd like to see what Ibisevic is like in a year or if he's just having one of those seasons. Such a goalscorer so far this season. Otherwise I'd still like us to buy Jose Paolo Guerrero from Hamburg.
  5. Behind Marcus Rosenberg and others in our national team. Goalscorer but not much in addition to that. Not sure he'd cut it in the Premiership.
  6. Was really good to see the game out, was sure they were going to nick another goal late on. Bartons start to the game and Beye were highlights today. We should have exploited their weak right side more. Everytime Zuiverloon had a one-on-one he shat himself, and Donk wasn't the most reliable centre-half I've seen. Still, with Martins, Gutierrez and Barton not in full match fitness, we lack the ability to threat opposition with this line-up. Can't wait to see Owen back and a full-time managerial appointment. Also - and I know it was only a couple of minutes - Xisco looked no better than a Spanish version of Carroll when he came on.
  7. I'd like to see: Given - Beye, Coloccini, Taylor, Enrique - Duff, Geremi, Guthrie, N'Zogbia - Martins, Xisco Subs: Harper, Bassong, Butt, Cacapa, Ameobi, Ranger, Edgar
  8. Djibril Cissé, El-Hadji Diouf (finally found their level) and now Dirk Kuyt.
  9. Fantastic statement. Really made me feel better about the current situation.
  10. I'd like to see N'Zogbia in midfield. We were far to slow there yesterday. Is Duff injured? And will Oba be back for this game? Given - Enrique, Colo, Taylor, Beye - N'Zogbia, Butt, Gonzalez, Duff(?) - Owen, Xisco
  11. Better than Paul "1-4, 0-4" Ince, but no. We need to let him go because these series of events would probably repeat themselves because of Keegans nature. It's the third time he's resigned from Newcastle.
  12. I'm thinking that this might be the end of football as we know it. It'll just get worse and turn in to a playground for people with too much money on their hands. Looking forward to 6 months of speculation about Robinho to Chelsea now that he's in England anyway. We'll probably bring in another spaniard to replace Kev.
  13. Scored a great goal against us once, but was a disappointment at Spurs wasn't he?
  14. The SPL is far better than the swedish league. Larsson has managed 8 goals in 20 games in Allsvenskan this season. Allsvenskan is considered to be the 32nd best league in Europe. No thanks to Larsson.
  15. Would be a massive blow to lose him. I really think he contributes a lot to the team with his work rate and ability to create stuff. Also, he has got tremendous potential and he'll probably grow at Villa or whereve he goes. If he goes i'll miss him bigtime and I really hope we bring in a respectable replacement.
  16. Even though I'm now 100% sure he'll sign, it's strange that we haven't even confirmed the fact that we have agreed a fee with Depor. The club couldn't possibly think it'll be another ""out of the blue"" signing for the fans..?
  17. Given - Beye, Coloccini, Faye, Enrique - Barton, Guthrie - Jonas, Owen, N'Zogbia - Martins Not much height, but at least we'll have some pace upfront.
  18. I'm from Stockholm aswell. Moving to the south of Sweden for studies in a couple of weeks though, but there are quite a few Newcastlefans in Stockholm. You should check out www.magpies.nu in a few of weeks time(it's down and being rebuilt atm), the vast majority of them are active members there. We usually meet up every once in a while to watch games in bars and so on.
  19. I'm getting worried for real if this isn't official by this time tomorrow. Could well be a case of him flying in for his medical and other formalities today and then being unveild tomorrow.
  20. Is Keegan saying anything about Coloccini etc. in the interviews?
  21. Good work from Milner and Guthrie. The latter looks a very good passer..
  22. "Kevin Keegan is in this horrible position as a manager" - they picked these guys off the street?
  23. That was him. He scored against Wigan in the first game and against Bolton from a penalty aswell. Then the whole hip-thing started..
