Stoke City 1 - 1 Newcastle United - 11/04/09 - Post match reaction from page 28

We look incredibly nervous on the ball. Bassong looks sharp though... -
He took the piss at Old Trafford tbf. He was probably the best player in both games, the rest of his team, however, were ****. Pretty much. He was the only one for Barca who wanted the ball all of the time, the only one who tried to lead by example. The rest of his team just hid whereas he stood up and tried to take responsibility. Maybe I'm wrong then, but if that's the case I see similarities to Ibrahimovic's situation in the games against Man Utd earlier this season. My point is I think too many people judge Zlatan on a few performances when playing for a very overrated side against very good sides.

Stephen Carr instead of Miguel.

Can't believe some people are putting Eto'o and Rooney ahead of Zlatan in their teams. He is winning the Serie A on his own at the moment, by far the best player in that league. The only reason he isn't recognised by English supporters is because everytime he has come up against English teams he's not performed. But I'd like to remember Messi had two very poor games against Man Utd in last seasons Champions League for example. It's not easy to get recognition when you play for an overrated side like Inter. And then there is this opinion that he doesn't perform in big games. On an international level he has been doing just that(scoring agianst Italy, Spain and Greece in the last two European Championships). This is something players like Gerrard and Ronaldo has been unable to do on international level. For me, the only two players that are better than Ibrahimovic atm are Messi and Gerrard. ----------------Casillas-------------- Alves---Ferdinand---Vidic---Cole ---------Essien-----Gerrard---------- Messi-------------------------Ronaldo -----------Torres---Zlatan-----------

I think Messi has more flow to his game. A lot of the things he does just seem to come randomly out of the pure talent that he possesses. Rooney on the other hand is without a doubt immensly talented, but he is only on top of his game when he uses his psychological strenghts and his will to succeed. I don't know exactly how to put it, but it looks to me as if Rooney tries harder than Messi.

Looking at the fixtures we should be able to get to 41 points. It's just that we have won 6 out of our first 30 games and are now looking to win 4 out of 7 that seems strange to me...

Bellamy not a team player? Gerraway man. On the pitch, yes, but as it proved under Souness he wasn't always putting the team infront of himself.
-
Bobbys team was a TEAM, and they had confidence in their own ability like no other team in this country. They also had a style of play in contrast to the present side, and players hungry to achieve things instead of being scared of the pressure at the club. I think Bassong and Beye are the only players I'd put in Bobbys team. -----------------Given----------------- Beye--Bassong---Woodgate-Bernard Solano---Speed--Dyer----Robert ----------Shearer---Bellamy------- Bellamy, Robert and Dyer weren't teamplayers but they did fit in under a manager of Bobbys calibre.

Should be interesting to see what Wise says to the media about his time at the club..

Crucial appointment for the clubs future. IF we go down despite him coming in, he'll keep some more players at the club and be able to bring in quality and get us back up. IF we stay up, we'll attract better players than the likes of Kinnear would have managed to do.

Rasmus Elm, born in 1988. In the squad for Swedens WC-qualifier against Portugal and scored a wondergoal.. ..on his international debut against Austria. Plays for Kalmar FF who just won the Swedish title, and is the younger brother of Viktor Elm (Heerenveen). He turned down a move to Fulham in January and opted to stay in Sweden to develop further before moving abroad. Lars Lagerbäck says he's "world class off the ball" already.
-
Without a doubt my favourite player for the past three years. Seems to care more than most of our players.
-
To be honest I think we might struggle to keep him even IF we stay up. Way above our level atm. Same goes for Bassong and Martins if you look at yesterday's performance.

Well played by Steven Taylor, Enrique, Bassong, Harper and good delivery from R.Taylor. We need to make changes to get something from this game. Shame Lovenkrands didn't score that one-on-one.. -

We need Martins and Jonas on 2nd half if we're going to score.. -
Not famous at all in Sweden, but probably good if he's in the national squad for his age group, they're one of the most talented this country has seen in recent years. Big, big step from Jönköping Södra and the Swedish third division to playing Premiership football. Will probably need a couple of years.
-
If he's a right back, what's going to happen to Beye?

Kinnear offered 2.5/3.5 year contract extension

This would be the worst decision made since appointing Souness if it's for real. Hopefully Kinnear himself realises that he's not qualified for the job and declines. -
This whole City madness is the definitive end of football as we know it. Stunned that it has happend so quickly, considering that only five or six years ago, we made a similar signal of intent by signing Woodgate for £100m less.
