surely you've gotta be against breaking the wage cap for any position? picking and choosing positions defeats the point of a wage cap? no?
-
just gotta put faith in the manager to keep them focused. to be honest i think we've got a lot of character in our team, and dont forget they'll remember how shit it was to get relegated, lets hope they use that experience to drive them onto finishing the season strongly.
-
Aye, been right struggle to stay interested watching them on the telly this season. Boring Boring MAN UNITED! might get a bit more interesting if they draw today. if chelsea end up pegging them back and arsenal continue to fuck it up i think wenger will just implode
-
yeah true, if reports that ben arfa's gonna be played off the front striker are true, i'd expect us to only bring in that striker tbh and concentrate the rest of our efforts elsewhere. when all's said and done that could well be the best option. the new man's gonna have to hit the ground running and have a bloody good fitness record though, thats for sure.

all i'm saying is lets have reliable back up so we can send ranger out on loan No I can see your point, just think Doyle would cost a fair whack. granted, its pie in the sky really. obviously i'm hoping for serious upgrades on our starting front line at the minute. its gonna be mint when one of them breaks down and we're left with shola again.
-
dave, stop it. you're supposed to be a bastion of optimism (in my mind)

its a given that we need two new strikers. all i'm saying is lets increase the squad quality as well while we're at it. if you think about it, thats actually more ambitious
-
We always lose or fuck up the games we are supposed to win. i know. just trying to be positive, there are a few reasons to be today, for once edit - thats also one of the most embarrassing avatars i've ever seen

tiote and nolan man, we're not losing this!!

SSN: Scott Parker gets Football Writers' Player of the Year
Dr Venkman replied to Interpolic's topic in Football
but if its not the same people your point doesnt mean shit -
haha, all i said was he'd be a good replacement for shola and everyone's gona akka.

His latest goal ratio is absolute s****. Why settle with a player of his calibre when we should/can get a player with decent goal ratio? "Do a good job"/work hard is more of a job for the midfield. We need goal scorers. As this season (and many other seasons) has proved, we also need a few squad strikers who are reliable and capable of doing a good job when needed. Doyle will do that. So will Shola and Leon Best. We need to sign quality not shite. shola's not reliable like
-
i agree. i'm just not holding out much hope
-
you may well be right
-
i've got an affinity for anyone who does well for nufc tbh. i have absolutely nothing resembling affinity for shola, the lazy sack of shit.

In a Pigs eye will he the f*** does that mean? http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/in+a+pig%27s+eye in a pig's eye (American informal) something that you say which means you think there is no chance that something is true or that something will happen Me, in love with Sandra? In a pig's eye I am. ahh i see. i've never heard that one before. the way you delivered it was a bit yoda like, i think thats what threw me.
-
doyle would be a good cheapish replacement for shola imo. that's implying we'll ever get rid of the latter though, which we all know isnt gonna happen
-
In a Pigs eye will he the fuck does that mean?
-
fuck that, i'll be gutted if he leaves. our defence is the best part of our team and we need to keep it together. serious thinking to be done if we need to replace him

SSN: Scott Parker gets Football Writers' Player of the Year

People have said Charlie Adam should've been in with a shout: but isn't it exactly the same situation? Adam deserves praise for some of his performances this year. He's certainly been a shining light but far from the best in the league. Parker has obviously been given it because people are still shocked that poor teams can have the odd good player in them - as opposed to the player in question actually being of sufficient quality to earn the "best in the league" award. sad state of affairs really. the automatic assumption is if you're any good you MUST play for one of the teams thats pushing for the champions league -

It's not though. He's an above average player playing in an utterly dross side. It's just typical of the attitude in this country to give the award to a player that works hard and is 'committed' instead of players who have actual quality and ability to play at the top level. He's not a bad player technically, he's quite good, but he's nowhere near the best player in the league and hasn't been this season. Did you watch the two games inwhich we played West Ham? Both games he was anonymous and was outplayed and out-fought by our midfield. These games are not exceptions to the norm, this is his level for the majority of the season. He has a few moments of quality and is more committed than his teammates and this exaggerates his ability level. Couple this with a squeaky clean reputation, his nationality and the fact he plays for a Laandan club and bang - Player of the bastard Year. excellent post sir -
williamson mate, colo will get absolutely bummed in the air by carroll best way to deal with carroll is cut the supply line from midfield, close them out and they'll resort to carragher hoofing it up to carroll mindlessly
