We've spent all season complaining about our inablity to see off the smaller teams man. smaller? or worse? think about what you're saying. The teams in and around us then. well ok, but i'm still not sure what you're trying to say. losing to stoke and blackpool isnt such a great shame, they're both good teams this season imo, blackburn were doing ok at the time under allardyce and we didnt lose to fulham. my post was just to put things in context to be honest because it's results like this that lead to some people booing when we draw at home, because they think 5-0 against west ham= 3 points against such and such. I see what you mean but i don't see many people over-reacting. Just happy with a good win, an important win too. dont disagree with that at all

yep, they need to be reminded of the utter stupidity in how much they enjoyed our relegation like.

He wandered to the half way line as play was ongoing, spoke to Pardew and the physio and the fourth official for about 1 minute, then came off and went down the tunnel. right hamstring...when the ferguson stuff was going on i was alone in watching tiote going over to the bench. hopefully we got him off early enough and with 10 days rest...fingers crossed. he'll be fine. you could tell he didnt want to come off because pardew has to tell him 2 or 3 times.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Dr Venkman replied to Pilko's topic in Football
Well if we go down on the back of selling for 30mill then its not a good deal We won't go down if that 30M is reinvested back into the team, especially now with Barfa back from March onwards Then there would be no point as I think we dont need to blow alot of money in any other position other than upfront at the moment. The likely hood of getting a deal sorted with Carrol with Spurs and us to attract and sign up 2 or 3 half decent players to make up the loss is highly unlikely in 3-4 weeks. Thats Championship Manager 2011 talk. i know it's pedantic, but i like the thought of a likely hood -
Lovenkrands gives us the much needed pace to allows us to hit people on the break I'd say he's no quicker than Ranger now really. Only difference is Ranger is stronger and younger, which to me would suggest he's a better option. Exactly, Also Lovenkrands finishing this season has been horrible. My cat would have finished some of he chances he's had this season. does your cat's contract run out soon?

'on subject of andy carroll' isnt needed in the thread title imo -
wouldn´t be sad to see ranger start! pardew would, it would make him look like a woight fackin mag

brilliant signing. fwiw the first few words of that article made me cringe

i could see barton in the middle that would put bentley out wide. don't agree with it but i could see it. I am still of the opinion that Nolan goes missing too often during important periods of the game and if it meant dropping him and seeing how that went then fair play for trying it. From what I have seen of Bentley the past few seasons I am not a huge fan however and can see him being another passenger that we feel we have to play because of his profile. barton in the middle drops far too deep though and we end up playing with two DM's, albeit with one that can pass over 20 yards. maybe with ben arfa and carroll up top to hold the ball that wouldnt be so bad, but it doesnt work with the options we've got up top currently.

if i wasnt a newcastle fan i'd be frankly staggered at the thought of paying 30m for him -
Gradel would fit the bill, young and his contract runs out relatively soon.

first game i'm attending since blackpool bummed us at home, really looking forward to it. i'm expecting an un-changed team.
-
this sort of thing really, it remains to be seen what ashley's intent is once the youngsters start to reach their potential. if its cash in (as i expect) we're fucked for as long as he's here, if its to continue to build the squad around them with sensible buys then fair enough. after that the next crucial decision will be when to bring in a manager that can take us further than pardew.
-
What do Liverpool have to do with your attendances? Do they supply the fans from their excess or something, is that supposed to explain it? Just pointing out that our support when compared to other so called world famous clubs and the success they have had is not that bad. Why? trying to divert attention from the fact that no-one's going to see them have a very good season, possibly?
-
It goes without saying that there must have been something to put him off working for the best owner/chairman the club has had in at least half a century, the only logical reason can be that he was scared off by thoughts of a lad with a misspelt banner and the protests the NUST organised before they were formed. The man can't be expected to leave the security of his current job knowing he'd probably be hounded out by the fans just like all the managers have in the last few years. Once again the club has been let down by these so-called supporters who dared to show their faces as we were relegated with the highest ever attendance figures in a relegation season, and no doubt shamefully continue to go to games and try to create an atmosphere in the ground. How on earth is Mike supposed to run the club successfully under impossible conditions like that? sarcasm is just lying you know, speak your mind

yeah i'd take tuncay like

Bit of an eccentric maverick, is my impression. He was after the Newcastle job a few years ago but was far too left field an option for Freddie to consider. He'd be a real gamble for Liverpool, and he's never managed outside Germany, but it might come off big time, like Wenger. I do think that's the move they need to make, but for every Wenger there is 10 Christian Gross'. Next Liverpool manager will need time as well as money, something that I doubt Liverpool can afford or are willing to give, might get some cash but not the kind of level needed for the overhaul they need. http://www.independent.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00032/Samllardyce_32841t.jpg

i don't really hate gerrard tbh. fantastic player on his day and i admired how long he carried liverpool for, much like shearer did with us. dives a bit like.
