  1. This, imagine how the league would be without the quality of people like Tevez and Silva? Man City may well end up 'saving' the Premier League. A league that looks a little less like a massive bubble waiting to burst. Man City aren't an attractive team to watch at all really, they just have a few players who are very interesting to watch. Also what Wullie said. Man City may as well be a random (and very rich) foreign club that decided to move its base to Manchester.

    Shola Ameobi

This. And as crazy as it sounds, I'd have Best in the pecking order ahead of him for exactly that. He can hold onto a ball and has a decent touch and whilst he isn't the greatest in the final third, he's a hell of alot less frustrating than Shola. We simply can't afford to have a player that can't hold onto the ball, especially if we defending a lead away from home. Agreed. Shola is absolutely useless at holding up the ball, but as a second striker I don't think he'd be that bad. I'd still rather have him over Best on any day, because playing a striker who isn't able to score simply defeats the whole point of playing strikers. Besides, if we were defending a lead away from home you'd put a midfielder on, not a striker. What on earth are you talking about? He has absolutely nothing required of a second striker. I mean instead of playing him as a traditional target man, play him as a striker who feeds off a target man. Shola has improved a fair bit in terms of his positional sense over the years, and he isn't that bad with the ball at his feet. I'm not saying he'll become immense just by tweaking his position a bit, but I can see him being more effective. Should have been less conservative tbh
  4. Uhh, I suggest searching youtube for Boumsong videos to refresh your memories.
  5. The Everton game in our relegation season, probably.
  6. Pity he's such a one-footed player, would have been a decent chance if he tried that shot on with his right.
  7. I know, but its not to 'accomodate' Ferguson, its to give us something down the right! And Ferguson looks even better at tracking back and covering than Jonas does, and then our RB would finally get some cover if Jonas was there. I think its a good shout anyway. I understand not wanting to break up our best link and the uncertainty of playing Ferguson. I don't see how its a particularly bad idea though. Our right has been fucking woeful! Shame Ferguson isn't right footed. If you're basing this on the Chelsea game, Ferguson was playing LB

  9. Given that he got both assists in the second half, what? (effectively both, anyway) 'I think that *insert jonas/williamson/krul etc*' is dreadful and should get his act together. The guy got 2 assists in an otherwise poor team performance? Dont get where ppl come from with this at times. The likes of perch and lovenkrands are out of their depth at this level. Jonas is the last thing should moan about Is it really that hard to read the first 5 words of my post? He was shit first half as were most, where is the confusion? Ah right, my bad.
  10. Given that he got both assists in the second half, what? (effectively both, anyway)
  11. What exactly are you smoking?
  12. Because he takes them with his right foot. He crosses with his left, because he's stuck on the wrong flank. Can't understand why people complain about his crossing, we'd all play s*** if we had to play with our weaker foot all the time. He did cross it once or twice from the right flank with his stronger foot, but those were arguably worse than his crosses from the left.
  13. Thats what the lad needs. he'll get better imo. He might, but his confidence must be pretty badly battered right now. Needs a break from the team regardless.
  14. Was thinking the same He can't cross, nor shoot, but corners?!? See Shola goal today. That one was pretty random too, the only left-footed cross he hit the entire match and it counts as an assist
  15. They did in the first half. Then came Hughton's high line and we were back in the race
  16. The fact that he gets away with it almost every single time is why he's rated so highly.
  17. Ameobi deserves a 7 tbh, I was actually expecting things to happen when he had the ball at his feet
  18. Why the hell are his corners so good?
