Sunderland have signed Carlos Edwards. He was good in the World Cup, suprised a premier league team didn't take a look.
-
So what do Rangers fans think of his performances (ahem) for Blackburn? Did they not see him there? AC Milan ffs, he is a Coventry standard player.

Not seen any of the action yet but what i'm reading in the match reports suggests that one of them (A Dunne challenge on Johnson) was probably a penalty. Obviously I'm not complaining but its nice for us to have a bit of a run of things going for us...2 games of solid defending won by 2 moments of pure quality followed by this. Have we been 'lucky' again? Have to wait for MotD. Overall the game sounded like a bit of a shitter but its nice to see George back in business. He's full of ability but he is a bit of a woofter at times (Somewhere inbetween Heskey and Luque). Haven't seen them myself, just listened on the radio and read the forums The Dunne on Johnson incident was supposedly a pen but apparently the Distin on Osman one was even more blatant but the ref bottled it because it was towards the end of the game. Sounded like a terrible match though, two very average sides. Johnson one is yet another dive. There is contact but he goes down so unnaturally. He really is a dirty little shite...he deserves every ounce of his reputation - in fact he gets off lightly cos he seems to have a habit of never appealling, even when it is a genuine foul. Makes people think twice about his reason for going to ground. Booo Osman one is a stick on pen. Maybe the ref couldn't see thru all the bodies but the linesman should have given it. Only reason I can think he didn't is because Osman touched the ball in the same direction it would have gone if Distin had got a touch on it. Unlucky there.

Congratulations Newcastle and that wee lad in particular bluebiggrin.gif Good day, shame Sibierski didn't get that one in at teh end of the 2nd half, going in 2-1 up would have been massive.Thought the defending was much better in the 2nd half with Solano staying back more to look after Ronaldo, I fancy you might have been able to hold on if you had gone in front again. If only eh.

They have a couple of chinese players on their books. Li Tie (ex Everton) and another one, I don't remember his name (He never plays) but I think he's a veteran forward. I think they bought a shitty chinese club (Which must be this Chengdu) too. They're just looking for free money from chinese mugs. Don't know why, we've never seemed to do that well out of it - We've got the best chinese player by a million miles and we're still buying shite like Paul Dickov.

Thats not the only error on the page. Apparently he has also predicted Liverpool will win...Surely not?!?

:first: Thanks to everyone who voted for me...much obliged bluebiggrin.gif ...and thanks to t27 for organising ...and thanks for letting us Johnny Foriegners post here in the first place -
Sounds eerily familiar Just looking at the league table - We're in 10th, but if we had lost both games this week we would now be in the relegation zone. Funny old game. mental.gif PS: West Ham fans are pretty pissed off too!
-
That was years ago. Summer 2005 wasn't it? Fine, it's over a year ago, certainly not excusing it. But on the same wavelength Craig Bellamy has done some twattish things in his life and I know a lot of people wouldn't mind having him back. It was at a fancy dress party at Christmas '04. Barton was going around stubbing his cigar into people's costumes until one of the youth team players decided to try and set his shirt on fire....you know the rest.
-
West Ham 0-1 Manchester City (Beasley 83) This time last week I was worried about being dragged into a relegation battle...but 2 lucky away wins in a row against relegation contenders? Bizarre. These are the types of games we've been losing for as long as I can remember. Happy days are here again...? Doubt it considering we've apparently been pretty lucky in both games but I'll enjoy it while it lasts...can't remember the last time we won back to back games. Let the good times roll...Until we next play a game we're expected to win and we inevitably shoot ourselves in the foot. bluebiggrin.gif

Barton and Distin share something but its not a brain cell...its Willie McKay...

I never understand why anyone sings "Sign On" at Everton fans. Its a pisstake of a Liverpool song...No-one would sing as pisstake version of Blue Moon at Old Trafford...why bother? mental.gif

Less than 8 days ago Barton said he wasn't going anywhere. Source I don't go for this baseless speculation shite. Everyone is interested in him according to one paper or another (Including Arsenal(!) and them(!!!)). Unless something actually happens I don't think there is much to talk about.

To be fair most goalies in this league are excellent and there's really not much between the best and the worst. However I think the best goalie, week to week, is David James. Awesome player 9 games in 10, its just that 10th game that counts against him and puts him in amongst the rest. Maybe my opinion is tainted by him being a City player but even if he isn't the best goalie in the prem, he is definetly Englands #1. I voted for him, and Petr Cech. Re: Isaksson - Only time I've seen him in a City shirt he was awesome. Much better player than Weaver who has hardly made a save all season but is keeping his place on sentimentality (Been injured for a few years) and not making any mistakes.

Kind of takes the romance out of it all if all we've become is a pooving ground for Chelsea. I don't believe Richards is keen on going anytime soon - It would be nice to see all our kids in the first team together for a spell before the inevatble breakup. PS: I'd want SWP back (They can carry on paying some of his wages) if they do make money talk. We are desperate for a bit of the ol X-Factor in the side again...we're pretty flat at the moment. Our problems are at the other end of the pitch so I'm not too fussed about a Distin replacement. PPS: Distin is not leaving in January. There's a lot of talk that Distin will sign a new deal, but I can't see it and think he's a Bosman waiting to happen. He's probably seeing what offers he gets when he is allowed to negotiate with other teams before deciding whether to sign what we've offered and I can't see us being able to compete financially with who will be interested (i.e. yous)

Sheffield United 0-1 Manchester City (Ireland 78) FT. Apparently a bit lucky - Very suprised we got a result, I was expecting us to go pointless over Christmas and for Pearce to get the sack but one win and we're up to the lofty heights (!) of 13th and there are now a stack of teams more worried than us. Hopefully we can follow it up at West Ham on Saturday... Merry fookin Christmas!!! bluebiggrin.gif

Good grief. I can't see how the chairman/chief exec/whoever can live thru this...2 shambolic desicions (3 if you include the contract) in such a short span of time...I'd be fkn fuming if I was a Charlton fan. Shades of City '96 really . Good situation for Pardew tho...he's in a no lose situation. Keep em up, he's a hero. Go down, not his fault.

Aye thats exactly the same as sayings its not going to be renewed. I call it a draw then. You can call it what you like mate! You're wrong, end of. 'As usual' might i add? I said Newcastle would beat Spurs and they did. This article shows it won't be renewed but he wouldn't say it's definately not renewed as Bramble's confidence would be low but it won't get renewed trust me. http://www.mwscomp.com/movies/grail/jpgs/bknight3.jpg

What actually gets me about this is oh people will just say having a laugh or whatever, but it's disrespecting a whole nation who pin their hopes on this overpaid pricks everytime they put on that Three Lions. Absolutely. Its fkn shameful - And I'm speaking as an Englishman, not a City fan. But the England fans are powerless to do anything about this. Whats going to happen? A few boos...maybe a witty chant? So what...him and his mates have had to put up with stick for years. Is McClaren going to drop him for it? Maybe, but I doubt it considering he's in Taggart's pocket, I doubt it(For the last match he picked every single on of thier fit English players). I really do think the only reprecussions he can feel is from the other England players - I assume that some of them actually do care about the shirt. And Carrager is a scouser too... bluebiggrin.gif
-
Manchester United captain in being disrepectful ignorant cretin shocker... Some fkn nerve. I hope an England player who actually cares (Carragher?) breaks the talentless moustachioed-wannabee twats legs next time the national squad meet up for a training session.

Diawara?!? Huth?!? Ooijer?!? Shev-fucking-chenko?!? You can use statistics to proove anything (40% of all people know that) and there are some decent signing s on the list but some of the names included ahead of the likes of Sibierski, Trabelsi, James, and Chimbonda? I'd be embarrased to print that article - What a crock of shite. I mean, didn't the #5 Diawara get slated by his chairman this week? mental.gif

Billy Jones is a name I've heard a lot. Never seen him myself but he's constantly linked with City. Wouldn't be suprised to see him here given the number of reports, but Pearce recently said he'll be looking abroad in January because in his opinion, lower league players are overpriced. He could have been referring to this guy - £2m seems to be the asking price in most of the stories I've read.
-
Can't claim to be a big fan of either player. I don't rate Nugent at all - his record is nothing special and whenever he plays for the U21s he never really looks like getting a goal. Eastwood to me looks to be a better player in almost every sense bar athletism - I thought he was really good in terms of touch against Manure but I don't think he has enough ability to cope with the difference in size, strength, pace, etc. I also heard he's a gypsy...? Not sure how that would affect a big move.

Best Opposing Player You've seen @ St James' Park
Dr Spectrum replied to Minhosa's topic in Football
In terms of the ability and reputation of the player - I've seen Ronaldinho play at City, although he didn't do much on the day. Kluivert was playing for Barca too, he didn't play well either - Their best player was Saviola who's movement was a different class (Scored too). In terms of performance on the day, probably Michael Owen. 3 chances, 3 goals, 3-0. Classic Houllier counter attacking tactics but he made it count - Schmeichel didn't get near any of them, absolutely Lethal. We've had our fair share of beatings down the years, some down to us being a bit shite, some down to the other team just being better than us from 1 to 11, but thats the one that springs to mind as to a 1 man beating.
