Christ I didn't know that. 26 years old and in his fifth(!) season at the club. He's a trier and I've no ill will toward him but he should be well outside the 25 man squad next season and getting moved on. Should still be able to get a reasonable enough fee for him from a Championship club I imagine.

Mad how awful our lineup looks to me just from two absences. If we're to get anything there'll be some ugly backs to the wall moments with our two biggest outlets out. But I feel a lot more confident of pulling it off with Burn and Targett in place. Glad to see the stones on Howe to leave Lascelles on the bench.

I've not looked but I'm guessing he's dared to come out with some cliché 'sleeping giant' stuff that completely contradicts the way he'd talk the club down when he actually had a role in it? If football fans are anything it's certainly fickle. He can say as much nice stuff about the club as he wants. He can still fuck off.

Certainly gets harder for Howe to make the change with each positive result. The change will come as a result of injury/suspension, or a result-affecting bad performance imo. I'm just thankful we've got a bit of breathing space for such a decision though.

I imagine whether a player sticks around the team during rehab is case-by-case but reckon he's the sort of character that would want to still be around everyone, and Howe is probably smart enough to realise the positive effect he could still have on the team if he does so.

Half-tempted to bump back up one with Trippier's injury so I'll be a dick and meet in the middle at 3.5.

Such a strange performance. I actually thought the first half he didn't seem too bad but second half was all over the place. Some of the 'fouls' he pulled us up for were laughable, whilst seeming to overlook the sort of things most other referees have been delighting in punishing us for.

His body language looked shocking too tbf. Don't think he wants to be here.
