I take back any prior defence of Micah Richards. Punditry in this country is awful but I don't know what you can do to resolve it. I hate the argument that if you haven't achieved x then you can't analyse y, especially as I feel that's a massive hindrance to unknown individuals that haven't played at a high level but may have poured their adult lives in to analysing the sport for a career. There's also the problem of Sky etc wanting name value, as viewership would obviously drop if you just had a bunch of journalists on TV. Not the mention punditry will attract a mediocre level of analyst because almost everyone with genuinely extensive knowledge and ability has probably opted to stay active in the game itself, so you get left with the guys without anything better to do than just take an easy payday.

I'm hoping we don't need to see him for the rest of the season tbh. Hopefully we're clear of the drop with games to spare and he can focus on being ready for August.

I'm not normally one for dreaming of players becoming staff but I already want him to stick around until he retires and get groomed for the manager's job.

I think it's as simple as he's very easily suggestible. If he's allowed to slack off he'll slack off. If he's forced to put the effort in then he'll do so and after a while you'll see an uptick in performances. He's played a part in this fantastic run and I'll be grateful for that. But he's not someone I want to rely on if we aim to improve year on year. Keep him around another year or two if he's happy to play a bit part but that's about it as far as I'm concerned.
