When did it actually start to get so wordy? Haven't really paid attention to him for a while. I seem to remember there were some more sombre/serious ones where he'd get more wordy from time to time. Was it just a case where he was lauded for those ones because of the topic at hand so decided to lean in to the essays? When I opened this and saw the wall of text I just looked for the Scholes frame for a giggle then closed it again tbh.
  2. Crazy how much of a cult figure he became with some of our fans just because he had Carroll to belt it up to for 18 months and wound mackems up.
  3. My reflex was Emery and I don't know why. Fonseca is the sexier option. Rafa is tugging at the heart strings. But hey ho. I'll stick with my gut.
  4. Jesus fucking CHRIST. This has to be a co-ordinated joke by the entirety of football. It has to be.

    Transfer rumours

I understand the idea of getting 'proven' PL players if we're to spend in January but surely the eyewatering prices will outweigh that massively? Clubs will do business with us but I don't imagine at a fair price. Players like Coady would cost a disgusting amount right now for what they'd offer.

    Rafa Benítez

Lovely thought in theory but I imagine Rafa as a DoF would end in tears. Couldn't picture him taking the step back from coaching that would be required. Seems the sort that'll be on the training pitch until he can't physically do the job.
  7. Poor Ole. He's only had 6 transfer windows and £400m to spend. Give him a chance! Please, Man U. Keep giving him a chance. Thank God Man U fans are so respectable, though. No disgusting abuse like calling him a cabbage head.

Jesus. I knew Rafa didn't have many options to add to the squad while they scrabbled around the bargain bin this summer but I didn't realise they were that bare.

    Rafa Benítez

Calling out for investment yesterday.. This mess today.. Next week's surprise is Rafa sacked Monday, back at SJP Tuesday. Right, @Ando7?
  10. Honestly the biggest creep of a 'journalist' out there. Never known someone who lives out their career on Twitter to conveniently run away 'on holiday' so much (learnt it from his idol I guess). At least until he's got something he can wind everyone up with and suddenly he's got a bit of spare time again, of course. At least until his wine break, anyway. Ohhhh love wine me.
  11. If we stay up? No. No we won't. If we go down? No. No we won't.

Crazy how refreshing it is just to hear someone with even an ounce of respect take the reigns, both for the club and himself.
  13. What's even more laughable is if Rafa showed up pulling that shit, the media would've been jizzing themselves silly to pile in on him with us. Remember how much mileage they got out of his 'facts' rant back in the day? Imagine Bruce coming out with that stuff; it'd probably be part of some Sky motivational advert package every fucking weekend.

He's starting his investment battles early to piss the board off, get sacked and come back.
  15. Slightly too dignified for a nation mourning the loss of a legend of the game, I guess.

Can just picture Luke apologising to his little bacon baby boy daily for having to write about the new manager hunt ahead of how much everyone's hurt the poor cabbage patch cunt's feelings.

Had to hunt down his quotes as for a moment I was going mad and read that as him saying Bruce's relationship with Newcastle fans was great.
  19. As far as I'm aware, the only real 'abuse' that can actually be pointed towards is Twitter, isn't it? While not saying it's okay, the idea that NUFC fans are the only ones to jump on Twitter to slaughter a manager is hilariously ludicrous. As I I've seen others say, I wish the media were this furious over Everton fans showing up to Rafa's house to scare him off from joining the club. But no. Only NUFC has unreasonable fans.
  20. Really don't buy the idea that he can't get a tune out of our players just because of his preferred style of play. An attack-minded coach doesn't scare me purely on the basis that improving the team's play in possession will instantly take half the pressure off our shoddy defence. And maybe we'll actually make use of one of our best defenders again in Schar! Just like Rafa had his teams playing as more than the sum of their parts, the inept cabbage head has had his playing as less than. Keegan returned in January and turned Fat Sam's mess around. Rafa almost managed it on arriving in March, and probably would've saved us if he'd been installed just a couple of games earlier. This guy should have three quarters of the season and a transfer window. Not to mention, unless I've missed something while out of the loop the past couple of years, the bottom of the league is ordinarily utterly fucking lifting. There's a good chance we go on a horrendous run due to the team's we're due to face but we'll still probably be a good little run away from safety come the second half of the season. I know nothing of Fonseca to confidently say how good he is, but if he's got as much ability as everything we've read and heard suggests, he's got more than enough time to improve this team that relegation won't be on our minds come the final few games of the season.
  21. Jesus Christ, Mikel. I've decided NUFC is the subject of a Truman Show-style documentary. Football in its entirety was created to build up to this season, where some Dream Team-style tragedy strikes just as ASM is about to boot the title-winning goal in on the final day at Turf Moor.
  22. No. We still have more than enough laughing at him to do.
  23. Why did they have to stick Rafa in that picture, man.
