    Transfer rumours

I could be wrong but I think you can be registered with three clubs in a season, and play for two. So as long as Abraham didn't play a game for Chelsea before he moved that'd hopefully not be a problem? Depends what consists as a game, though. Did he play a friendly or anything before he left Chelsea? If I recall right, Hatem get blocked from playing the second half of a season for Nice when he initially signed because he played a bloody U23 for us before going on loan to Hull.
  2. I think I agree with the OP list for the most part except I'd rather shift Manquillo down from play to bench and I'd also keep Clark and Darlow for the bench for the short term. Unless they each show they're on a dramatic downturn I think we've seen enough to trust them as a back up. The problem always comes when they're given an extended run in the first XI and thus, more time to fuck up. EDIT: I'd also keep Ritchie around for personality reasons, an end-of-the-bench kind of presence if he accepts he's slowing up and is happy with such a role. Not to get PFMtastic but he's one of the few whose attitude I think could be beneficial to help light a much-needed fire in the squad, especially with his prior relationship with Howe.
  3. I want to hear that Howe went down to do the half time talk. Jones sure as hell won't turn it around.
  4. Comments like this always remind me of my growing dislike for Lascelles. Has basically become the same kind of gutless wonder of a captain he once fought back against.
  5. Looking so much like his father. If he wasn't such a monumental spunkbag I'd feel sorry for him.
  6. Cathro was a McClaren hire and Rafa saw worth keeping him on so very much a similar set of circumstances.
  7. I honestly haven't given two shits about Jones since coming to terms with the fact he wasn't going to spell the end of Bruce. Couldn't imagine caring about his eventual role enough either way to defend him or actively call for his sacking. Seems utterly pointless judging his coaching ability based on him needing to try and keep an entire coaching set up afloat, a job he shouldn't have ever been tasked with in the first place. If he's got uses that the new head coach/DoF deem worth keeping him around for then that's fine by me. If they sack him then take care and all the best.
  8. Wow. I never knew he took over so late in the season. Good thing we got ourselves a relegation expert, eh!
  9. Would've taken him when the takeover was first announced. Only feeling a little disappointed after some of the other names that have been bandied about. All in all it's a step up and more ambitious a hire than 8/10 of Mike Ashley's hires, one of which was cynical and the other of which fell in to his lap. Im all in. Welcome, Eddie.
  10. There's no way it's not a clean sweep. Faces of our fucking fan base ffs. I propose Wor Flags base their entire display next home match around denouncing them.
  11. Why is working with Jones critical? Fuck sake.
  12. When was the last time Ballague had the inside track on anything of interest? Genuine question. Feel like the only time I see him pop up these days he's chatting shit.
  13. The Howe hate isn't reserved solely for some weirdos on here. My Arsenal mate would go apoplectic any time he was even slightly linked to their job and that was when he was still doing well with Bournemouth. Seems to draw such a weird little hate crowd.
  14. It's times like these I realise how much of a boring fart I am.
  15. Excuse me but is Nuno Espirito Santo one of the most important football managers in England of the last 100 years? No? Thought so. Zip it, deluded Geordie.
  16. Totally fair. When you look at his track record it's good spells with Rio Ave and Wolves and three underwhelming spells at 'bigger' names. So I could certainly see it going either way if he joined.
  17. I'd take Nuno. Not top of my wish list or anything, and I'd be concerned about the options they've been running through the past few weeks if they jumped on Nuno at the first chance. but I'd take him.
  18. Maybe. But you have to ask would Spurs fans have had any idea to even sing such a thing had our toxic fan base not invented managerial abuse?

    Graeme Jones

I saw the unchanged starting XI and couldn't bring myself to watch. Unless I missed a lot whilst being out of love with this club, continuing to leave Dubravka, Schar, Willock and Almiron on the bench over some of that dross is criminal. Still not concerned whether he remains under any new manager; that's for the new man to decide his worth.
  20. I can't answer for anyone else but I've personally not reacted to the Martinez rumours because of the odds. I don't want him, and haven't from the start. Wouldn't have even wanted him under Ashley. The amount I don't want him doesn't change whether he's 40/1 or 4/1.
  21. I really wish people would stop referring to the next manager market odds like it means anything.

    Kieron Dyer

Couldn't help myself soz. Do agree though, would be good to hear. Interesting to see comments from people saying he was looking a bit worse for wear when doing the Spurs match as I actually noticed he was waiting on the same train up as me from Peterborough and looked perfectly well to me.

    Kieron Dyer

I think he'd rather be recovering, mate.
  24. https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2021/10/feyenoord-director-mark-koevermans-stands-down-after-threats/ I hope you're all happy having created this culture of abuse in football. Makes me wonder how poor Stevie is getting on.
  25. Was going to say imagine implicitly going to bat for the Saudis on a news channel as an NUFC fan. Seeing this 'news channel' has less than 500 subs makes it even more amusing.
