  1. Yup. Takeover that could genuinely progress the club is knocked back due to concerns that turn just as geopolitical as football-related. Then they rush through someone without the public controversy to say 'here you go; you got what you wanted' but they have nowhere near the finances/nous and the club gets run in to the ground. Just feels like the inevitable conclusion if a takeover were to happen now.
  2. Win/win for the club. Either accept a wedge for Dubs and give Woodman a chance next year, or Dubs is mental enough to stick around so they accept a wedge for a promising young English 'keeper. Then when Dubs still moves on a year after that, Elliot makes a triumphant return to save the club from near-certain relegation from the Championship.
  3. Looks like someone rendered Ivanka for one of those sex game adverts that pop up constantly when you're trying to have a tug.

  5. I find it strange the need to have to pick one side or the other. The more I see and hear the more I'm of the opinion both sides fucked it for different reasons. Someone posted somewhere in here the past day or so that if they weren't going to make us the richest club in the land we'd have nowhere near the same sympathy for them and I'm inclined to agree. I'm not saying they're tyre kickers, but I'm also not going to believe a whole ton from a consortium that have imo strung our most trustworthy local reporter in Caulkin along this whole time with 'no red flags' positivity bollocks. There's no way in hell I believe that they're shocked by any of this mess. They just prayed they could brush it under the carpet. Does this mean I think the PL are blame free? No. I still think they've allowed outside influences affect their process. I still think they've absolutely bottled the whole situation. To happily ignore this whole thing in the hope it disappears just shows they couldn't truly give a fuck if a football club falls in to neglect, nor about the end consumers that it also affects. Tldr shock horror football is full of duplicitous cunts.
  6. Never switch off as a manager? When the fuck did he switch on?
  7. Nice and simple. Would be interested to see an NUFC mock up in that style actually.

It's not even a minute long and they had to pad it out with clips of him on the bench and in training. Amazing.
  9. They did accommodate Albert in to a strong Belgian backline though.

Or they sync up knowing this club.
  11. My only reservation is I can't remember the last time I read a Luke Edwards tweet and thought 'reasonable enough in isolation' to a single word. Fuck sake.
  12. I'm in. Thing is, there's certain statements in some of Penn's posts which in isolation I think 'yeah, reasonable enough'. But fucking hell if he isn't an arrogant ballbag about it all.
  13. Think I've said before on here but I still find it crazy to think one more season with us and we probably would've overtaken Leeds as his most appeared for club. Just always felt like he'd made a ton more appearances for them than us.

    Alan Shearer

It would actually be amazing if all NUFC fans stopped to wish him well rather than the usual behaviour Having said that I bet they show Shearer in his Blackburn kit Becuase of course that won't trigger our fans even more.
  15. Don't know who they're trying to kid with that extra year.
  16. Of course he is. He doesn't give a shit who owns the club as long as he gets his cash. It just so happens his desire broadly aligns with NUFC fans' desires of wanting him out.
  17. Sadly their method will probably work. It's been a good concerted effort by fans so far but it'll die out. Especially when fans are allowed back in stadiums.

It's as if he's tried to purposely gloss over it with the arms over the sponsor and beard draped over the crest while the rest of it flails in the opposite direction.

    Joelinton

Totally relate to this feeling btw. I always maintained even if he came good that I still would've trusted Rafa to invest the same amount of money more effectively across the team. I don't know if I was trying to convince myself of that or others. But how it's all turned out has just made the argument so much simpler to make. Imagine even if they compromised just a little and Rafa got to have his say on the £40m whilst allowing Ashley to take a punt on ASM.
  21. August 30th 2029: Following the departure of Paul Jewell, caretaker manager Andy Carroll has been told he'll need to sell to buy, as Mike Ashley tightens the club purse strings and PIF confirm they see no red flags for their latest takeover push. Carroll, who had been coaching the Toon Army's under 9s before their disbandment for budgetary reasons, has been cited as 'the only man for the job'.
