  1. I thought he was meant to have been smashing for you? Or was that just meejah spin? Media rubbish really. He does pretty well at right back to be fair but he's shite in midfield and nothing special at left back either. I think the line of thinking is that a Man Utd veteran at a non-top 4 club must be one of the best we have.
  2. Don't underestimate Anichebe Im not, I just think they need another good striker to add depth and competition. If they get the Yak they will get that. Johnson and Yakubu would turn out to be a good partnership imo. Nice blend of pace and strength. Anichebe is going to out perform both this season in my opinion. Nah, I like Victor but he's still very raw. James Vaughan is much the better prospect. As for tonight's game I think it will be tight. Gut feeling says 2-1 loss, I'd be happy if we got a draw.
  3. I hate him but it's just plain wrong to say his only talent is a powerful shot
  4. Wouldn't be surprised. They are resorting to playing Kilbane at left back now
  5. He only ever has a decent game for us when he's played at right back. Stupid rumour though. There's no way Moyes would sell his captain for a relatively small fee that we don't need.
  6. Not having Arteta in the first XI after he completely took the piss against Wigan tells me everything I need to know about Garth Crooks' football knowledge
  7. We've got more chance of signing Gary Neville tbh. We always say this but i'm talking stupid money here. 20m ish Wouldn't buy his laces. What about Eboue. He might be available considering they've just replaced him with whatshisface. Can't think of anyone else in the premiership. Apart from Danny Mills. Who is s****. Eboue is Arsenal's first choice right winger now with Hleb playing behind the striker
  8. Great bit of business. Bargain fee for you lot and yet more proof that Sammy Lee couldn't manage a pub team. His transfer dealings have been absolutely woeful.
  9. I celebrated a 1 goal win over Wigan by drinking way too much on an empty stomach, buying a sandwich from Subway then throwing it back up into a bin an hour later. Amateur mistake tbh. :-[
  10. I agree mate, it also means an injury to Arteta wouldn't be a disaster that would halt our season. £6m for Fernandes is brilliant compared to £9m for Reo-Coker who isn't even half as talented. Delighted with this!
  11. Strachan and other SPL managers are trying to scrap the U21 rule because it doesn't work They just have to be academy players rather not Scottish and they were complaining that it can result in a bad attitude because these young players get a space on the bench whether they deserve it or not. Basically lucrative pro contracts to sit on their arses.
  12. Sammy Lee has made so many rubbish signings this summer. Shaping up to be a rubbish manager.
  13. If we weren't robbed at Stamford Bridge on the last day they'd have been 6th
  14. There's probably more chippys, cafes and fast food chains on Goodison Road and Walton/County Road than the whole district of Anfield. Did you go round with a blindfold on? There's tons of pubs as well- Winslow, Spellow, Elm, Brick, Harlech Castle, County, Thomas Frost, Orry's and a few others. Especially compared to places like Wigan which you praise for it's pubs. Not sure what most of them are like for letting away fans in though? The views are terrible mind.
  15. You got the viagra for me and Tord?
  16. I nominate Jimmy Nail- Crocodile Shoes
  17. Actually, apart from being thin up front Everton has got depth everywhere else. Moyes' obsession with utility player means that they have Phil Jagielka who could play adeptly as centre back, defensive midfielder and right back, Phil Neville who has played everywhere across the back, and Joleon Lescott who could play left back and centre back. In midfield they have Arteta who could play everywhere, Tim Cahill, Leon Osman (winger at both sides). They are apparently confident of landing Manuel Fernandes, a midfield talent who could play as winger and central mid. Last season they managed fine with Andy Johnson out for a while. True that they have lost James Beattie now but Beattie was invinsible. Now they are bidding for Yakubu. It is unfortunate for them that James Vaughan is injured yet again. They have a small squad, but their players are very versatile. Still not convinced by them, Arteta is key too, a quality player who creates so much for them, they have no cover for him currently and I doubt very much Boro will let Yakubu go, if they do they will go down. Moyes needs to buy if he's going to achieve what he did last year. It's not so much they have gone downhill, more the fact that all around them have improved. If we sign Fernandes our creativity will go up massively. We were so much better to watch with him in the team last year and more importantly could also survive, god forbid, an Arteta injury. I think we'll sign a striker as well even if it's not Yakubu. I'd rather not make a risky big money signing like him tbh and just bring in a cheaper striker who will improve the squad and is young-ish. We've still got Vaughan and Cahill to come back who are more than good enough to be first XI players.

    Today's Games

What a fucking shit game that was. I'd rather have watched the tiddlywinks world championships

Hleb has looked s*** hot in pre-season now that they're playing him in the middle

    Bramble's Latics debut

But that is exactly the point. It's not like him being a bit clumsy is a one off. Bit of a difference between being clumsy for one goal and "instrumental" in two goals though

    MoJo? He's retired mate

    Bramble's Latics debut

He wasn't that bad really. Bit clumsy for the first goal but that was about it... no real clangers. I've seen him play a lot worse.
