FYP. The FA/UEFA in 2005 should've just stuck to the precedent that was set in 2000 when Real Madrid won and finished 5th, where Zaragoza got knocked down to the UEFA Cup. That was the Spanish FA's decision. Each country was responsible for nominating its representatives in CL competition, there was no specific rule on it and if we followed every precedent set by the Spanish authorities re: Real Madrid then our game would be in a very sorry state. The FA did the right thing and chose us as the 4th placed team over the whole season. Liverpool refused to accept that, spat their dummy out and lobbied UEFA for special dispensation. This eventually forced the whole rules of the competition to be changed so that CL winners are guaranteed a spot. Quite how that's Everton's fault is beyond me.

That thread is in a parallel universe.

As if we'd replace Baines with Keiran f***ing Richardson sell baines for what 15-20m to Man u and replace him with Richardson for 2m leaving the other 13m plus to pay back "debts" They might end up selling him but Baines is one of the best in Europe bar none. If they replaced him with dross like Richardson & banked the rest there would be murder. now either I think like a tabloid hack or they are watching us http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-have-opened-talks-with-everton-844069 Alan Nixon. He said Baines was going to Utd for £5m the other week. Now it's £12-15m. I'd rather ask Richard Nixon about transfers.

Absolutely don't want him here! Had a good season tbf. Funny he wants out as soon as he comes good though, been pretty shit in previous years.

What he do like? Came on the pitch at the end, gesturing about 5th place towards Everton fans. Didn't notice that but did see Pardew making a real point of clapping our fans when he got booed walking off the pitch
-
His carefully cultivated image as Shepard's Bush's answer to Gandhi in tatters after yesterday's antics.
-
Or a clever player if he knows the ref will carry on bottling it?

One of the best seasons when it comes to competitiveness, with all the most important league placings decided on the last day. As for being one of the best for quality of play/strength of teams? I don't think so.

Think the leniency shout is considering the ref showed leniency to Tiote literally about 4 times when he could have been sent off, then gave your bench the nod to sub him as if it was a pre-season charity game. Anyway, nothing against you lads but I was delighted with shoving Pardew's words down his throat yesterday. Really can't stand the smarmy fucker and his twattish comments about us going back to some embarrassing stuff he came out with in his West Ham days. Did our team talk on Friday with his "another level" dig. At least from your perspective the result didn't matter for CL in the end anyway. Good support and was surprised a lot seemed to stay to clap our players on their lap of the pitch? Fair play for that like. I wouldn't do it.

Yeah. We only signed him on a season long loan & his contract at Madrid is up in the summer.

He's a lunatic and often a liability on the pitch. Not to mention a liability off the pitch if rumours are to be believed. Can be exciting to watch & has got his fair share of goals and assists but I'd only keep him on a reasonable wage (which I'm sure he will think he's above and some daft club will indulge him). What makes him a lunatic and what are these off the pitch rumours you mention? I know he's into rap music, but I haven't ever heard he got himself into trouble. Also, as you see him more than me (Feyenoord is my hometown club and I know him best from that period, since then it's been mainly the odd Madrid appearance and MOTD), what makes him a liability on the pitch? On the pitch one of his main failings is when he doesn't get given a foul then sits on the floor sulking for literally about 20 secs while the opposition break on us with the ball he's just lost. Also dives a lot which I don't like. Doesn't track back much. Has spells where he loses his head, throws a tantrum and starts making ridiculous fouls too, a few times this season he's had to be calmed down by Heitinga sprinting half the pitch to talk to him in Dutch while he has a strop. Off the pitch, there's been loads of rumours about him turning up to training late, hungover etc. I know he's out in town a lot & lets just say not always with the best kind of crowd. He was on 'compassionate leave' for some unknown off-field problems for about 2 weeks recently too. Don't get me wrong he has his plus points too- good dribbler, fast, can be exciting to watch, has a good long-range shot and not bad at set pieces. If he stayed I wouldn't be disappointed but it has to be on reasonable terms for the club. Otherwise, I wouldn't really care if he left.

 Doni. Does Jones have to play us now?! Please say yes. Mind you, I'd maybe have preferred Doni based on these two games- a dropped cross & a red card

This. That cheating fucking tramp Dalglish kicking up a fuss over nothing to get all the decisions on Saturday cause he knows his team are shite.

I got a txt saying they were causing murder outside just after the game kicked off

Seems like you all enjoyed that as much as us Sunderland were awful tonight, we were class. Great putting that cunt MON in his place. Any time one of his teams is expected to play on the front foot he is clueless.

Saha hasn't spent much time in the treatment room this season but his performances have still been far from classy. Worst & laziest forward in the Prem this season bar none. Touch seems to have deserted him, every shot he takes is either blasted into row Z or a pea roller straight at the keeper, can't sprint full pelt anymore due to his knees, terrible attitude... he's pretty much finished and should retire. Maybe his attitude will improve with a new club and a new challenge but all the other shortcomings will still be there. Delighted Moyes managed to palm him off onto 'Arry Made up Pienaar is back. His form will come back to him with regular games & we won't feel the loss of Donovan as much now. Jelavic, the jury is out on but I'm looking forward to seeing how he does.

Neville has been largely wank for us as well. I hate this media myth that he's been one of our best players over the past 6 or 7 years or whatever. This season and last season in particular he's been fucking atrocious and in his 'prime' he was no more than a pretty solid full back. Always been a joke in midfield. As I said before, never rated Gibson but he's got to be better than playing Neville or Heitinga. He will improve with more regular football as well won't he? Right, lads? Lads....?
-
Moving out of Manc would be good for him I think. He's supposed to be caught up with a very bad crowd & has got massive attitude/behaviour problems.
-
Think he was supposed to play vs Blackburn but was bombed out because he was one of the players who went for that 'meal' with Rooney. Admittedly, he's pretty shit like, but I don't think you can use the team selections in the last couple of weeks against him. He's got to be better than Moyes playing defenders in midfield at least. Or Cahill who would have been put down this season if he was a racehorse.
