  1. Robson was losing the plot....some of the subs he made were comical. Enjoy the championship. It'll be a long long time before we get anywhere near where Bobby had us Let's not kid ourselves about Sir Bob. SBR was absolutely fantastic, and he should have been moved upstairs to assist a new YOUNG up and coming manager. Instead he was sacked and....for God's sake....Souness, who had taken Blackburn to the the brink of relegation was brought in. I put this as the start of our tumble down to the Chumpionship. OK remove Bob, but DON'T sack him. Good YOUNG manager, not expired-sell-by-date manager. But Bob WAS losing it towards the end. Forgetting conveniently the baffling substitutions and incapable of handling the young turds like Dyer Jenas and Bellamy doesn't erase it, you know. I don't get you. You agree that sacking SBR was the start of our decline yet you still defend the decision? Many many years from now when you're an old man and we manage consecutive top 5 finishes again will you still be defending it? BTW FWIW IMO the decline started when SBR was starved of funds during his last 18 months and publicly undermined by the club.
  2. What the fuck was that shit with the gospel choir singing 'Abide with me'? Talk about pissing all over tradition

  4. Shearer to blame for NUFC relegation. Christ. Where the fuck do you draw that conclusion from?
  5. Indi your posts are spot on. The majority of the posts in this thread are deeply embarassing. I'm glad someone agrees this 'Shearer can do absolutely no wrong - ever' mindset is utter bollox.
  6. Sorry mate but if you choose to read the Daily Mail you really can't complain about their piss poor journalism.
  7. Brilliant just what we need. The shepherd and shearer dream team reunited
  8. Fulham had won twice away all season until today
  9. Since the day Bobby got sacked this has been like watching a car crash in slow motion. From that day we've either had a gimmick or a sub standard manager sitting in the hot seat. I have watched us be relegated twice before and the chance of us 'being lucky to finish 5th' again is absolutely light years away. One day you might appreciate what we squandered.
  10. He was right to be sacked imo, club performances had dropped off hugely for well over a season and the team was showing him alot of dissent. If it werent for the poor quality of the league that season we would have finished midtable, very lucky to get 5th with the points we gained. The only mistake was he shouldn't have started that season, and we had replaced him with someone ALOT better then what we did. that'll be the team containing Bowyer and Dyer that was 'showing a lot of dissent'? Thank f*** that got sorted out, obviously it was the correct decision to sack ~SBR and replace him with someone who would take no s***. Fans like you deserve to be watching coca cola footie next season. From that response you dont have a f***ing clue, everyone and i mean everyone on here wanted him to go the season before. If you are of the belief that the number of people wanting him to leave were actually in the minority, no helping you. Also, i wrote he should of been replaced with someone alot better, which you ignored. Your that deluded you deserve to be watching coca cola footie next season. If what you claim is correct then 'everyone and i mean everyone on here' deserves to be watching coca cola footie next year aswell.

    Howard Webb

^ That's very true Dinho, we really only have ourselves to blame for this. How come every referreeing mistake is scrutinised minutely while players are wearing our shirt who cannot hit a cows arse with a banjo fuck up many times in every game? That could be applied to football as a whole, a ref on £50K a year is expected to have a faultless game every game but if a striker on perhaps 50 times the wage misses a complete sitter a 5 year old would have buried then the excuses come out - the ball bobbled, he just didn't get his head on it, the ball was too pacey etc etc etc. Mind that was a shite decision today tho all the same.

    Joey Barton

I know we are all supposed to love shearer and think he can't possibly do no wrong whatssoever, but some posts fawn a bit too much to him.
  14. Judging from his last few appearances for us I thought he'd already quit football.
  15. This thread title should be "Should Owen be included in the team? (or the squad for that matter)

    Joey Barton

    Excellent post
  17. Sorry about that, it didn't occur to me that the article was basically a fixture list. Here is a link to that article that predicts Newcastle will stay up: - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/5236107/Newcastle-target-Middlesbrough-derby-as-key-to-Premier-League-survival.html What a brilliant link. Sunderland unbeaten till the end of the season :banana2: :banana2: :banana2: :

    Joey Barton

Fucks sake there is a whole pile of shite being talked here about this. There's more than enough stupidity in this for it to be the fault of one person. 1 Undoubtedly Barton was stupid to make that tackle but Smith's earlier on was worse. 2 Guthrie's on Fagan (as has been mentioned ) was far worse AND intentional which resulted in a broken leg. 3 The most idiotic thing of all is Shearer publicly slagging Barton and calling the sending off correct. When have you ever seen Wenger or Fergie do the same? No they keep their mouths shut and appeal against the decision in the hope it gets reduced to a one match ban . In this case that was a distinct possibility- until Shearer opened his mouth. 4 And publicly suspending Barton achieves what exactly?
  19. I'd drop the captain in a heartbeat if I think he's gonna be another Robbie Fowler. Which I do.
  20. I'm not having a go at you HTT (because a few others have said the same thing) but why does everyone think dropping Owen took 'balls'? The lad is playing shite and is totally out of form, any half decent manager would do the same. The fact that he's Shearers mate is irrelevant, the manager is paid to make tough decisions. And if it all goes tits up no-one is going to blame Shearer - fuck me this thread had dozens of excuses for him (if we go down) before his first match in charge.
  21. If someone gave me an alleged £250,000 a game to manage a load of has beens I would show 'serious cojonas' and drop my pal if he wasn't scoring goals. It would be the least I could do to try to earn the money.
