    Park Ji-Sung

Unbelievable that Park is so, so, so, so under-rated by posters here. Apart from the obvious where everyone agrees on (workrate), Park : 1. Play a vitally important part in build up, doing the dirty legworks, water-carrying. 2. Always get into excellent goal scoring positions 3. Always cause havocs in opposition's defence and ask persistently ask difficult questions His finishing is horrendous, everything else he is better than vast majority of players. It can be argued that his terrible finishing has let him and his team down, as he is simply wasting away so many chances. However posters here choose not to critise his finishing but to severely underrate his football intelligence. This, I find very strange and disturbing. It is rather easy to deal with Park actually. Just leave Park alone and concentrate on others, as Park would not score even against an open goal. Unfortunately such defending will not be risked by any manager or player. So Park continues to play a vitally important role for Man Utd. Ferguson likes to rotate him because he never moans, he never complains, never strops, at least in public. He is the easy target, he is the lamb chosen for sacrifice because he does not resist. Surely SAF would rather spend more time and effort to placate the likes of Ronaldo and Rooney. Park would definitely be a certain starter in my Newcastle United.
  2. Given had another good game wth a few good saves.
  3. What a pass by Stephen Ireland to Robinho. Has Ireland got more pace and more better ball control - he will be undefendable.
  4. A bit disgusted by the outright pisstaking against Mapchisto - a very informed albeit frequent appearing poster. It is a very fair post. No need for silly mocking even if you have different viewpoints. For the record I support Ashley or give him the benefit of the doubt I am extremely negative towards the last board I cannot understand why so many people are bad mouthing NUSC. A suppporter club setup and run by genuine supporters - surely this is a good sign and an encouraging step towards more fan power ? Again, NUSC may hold different views from me, I am pro Ashley, I think our future under Ashley is rosy and great. But at least NUSC actually do something and actually try to achieve something.
  5. So with the window firmly closed now - how do you think each club has faired ? To me the winners of this window ought to be Newcastle United - Peter L seems a good buy. Nolan a good buy. Taylor on a cheap and provide what our manager likes (crosses). Sold an unhappy player N'Zogbia for decent money, sold Given for Okayish money but does not need cover. Everton - Jo on a loan ! Arsenal - Finally got the man they wanted for a while. West Brom - Juan Carlos Menseguez, Jay Simpson, Youssuf Mulumbu, Marc-Antoine Fortuné on loan. Good business. Losers Tottenham Hotspurs - Had to buy back Chimbonda, Defoe and Keane. Palacios is an excellent player, but he is not cheap. Lost out on many other players manager wanted (Downing, Bellamy, Jones) Chelsea - No significant reinforcement despite the arrival of Quaresma. Liverpool - Sold Robbie Keane without replacement. If Torres is injured then bye bye.
  6. HTT, an excellent post. Thank you.
  7. Different positions though ? Morrison and Larsson are wingers. Barnes is attacking midfielder, Huddlestone a defensive midfielder.
  8. I miss King because I do think he will improve the back 4 But as someone just said, the fact of clean sheet sort of nullify any advantage of having a fit King and Hutton.
  9. The managers are not impressed with Hutton though. Even if Hutton is fit - Corluka and Chimbonda will most likely be ahead of him in the queue. Keane + Defoe would be Harry's first choice partnership - but they have not been proven productive in tandem in the past despite given many opportunities. I think it would be wrong to hypothesize that they will automatically turn good once touched by the "midas" that is Harry Redknappe.
  10. Thanks for that, you're spot on. Disagree with you Kingdawson. Defoe - Keane partnership is proven to be not productive. O'hara is not a definite first team starter. There is no guarantee at all Harry will play him if he is fit. Hutton has been poor. That's why Spurs went on to buy Corluka and Chimbonda.
  11. Bolton - Gary Megson is simply not a Premiership calibre manager. Tottenham - Harry Redknapp is overated, and he has a disdainful personality Stoke City - They are not good enough I want Middlesbrough to stay in the Premiership. Good chairman, northeast club, and an honest manager. Portsmouth, I think they will go down but I have little interest in them. Blackburn, I think Sam is a brilliant manager who failed in Newcastle. He needs to be given chances to prove people wrong. West Brom, I like Tony Mowbray.
  12. What would be your starting line up for England against Spain? England Goalkeepers: Green (West Ham), Hart (Man City), James (Portsmouth). Defenders: Bridge (Man City), A Cole (Chelsea), R Ferdinand (Man Utd), Jagielka (Everton), G Johnson (Portsmouth), Terry (Chelsea), Upson (West Ham), L Young (Villa). Midfielders: Beckham (LA Galaxy), Barry (Villa), Carrick (Man Utd), Downing (Middlesbrough), Lampard (Chelsea), Milner (Villa), Wright-Phillips (Man City), A Young (Villa). Forwards: Agbonlahor (Villa), C Cole (West Ham), Crouch (Portsmouth), Heskey (Villa). Look at the strikers - are England experiencing a drought of decent strikers? My choice would be 442 with the following players Green L Young, Jagielka, Ferdinand, A Cole Milner, Carrick, Lampard, A Young Agbonlahor, Heskey Spain Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Reina (Liverpool). Defenders: Raul Albiol (Valencia), Alvaro Arbeloa (Liverpool), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Juanito (Real Betis),Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Gerard Pique (Barcelona). Midfielders: David Silva (Valencia), Xabi Alonso (Liverpool), Santi Cazorla (Villarreal), Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Xavi (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Albert Riera (Liverpool), Marcos Senna (Villarreal). Forwards: David Villa (Valencia), Daniel Guiza (Fenerbahce), Fernando Torres (Liverpool), Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao). Casillas, Ramos, Puyol, Pique, Capdevila Iniesta, Senna, Xavi, Silva Villa, Torres Compare Spain and England ... Hopefully Capello works his magic.
  13. 25 Reina 23 Carragher 37 Skrtel 05 Agger 02 Dossena 17 Arbeloa 20 Mascherano 15 Benayoun 12 Aurelio 19 Babel 24 Ngog
  14. Ideally I wuld like to see a combination of these 2.
  15. A bit of change from all these transfer talks. What would be your team of the season so far? I don't think there are many outstanding players so far. To me: Robin Van Persie, Robinho? Ashley Young, Frank Lampard, Vincent Kompany, Stephen Ireland Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic, Phil Jagielka/Brede Hangeland, Jose Bosingwa Edwin Van der Saar To me, only Lampard, Vidic, VDS and Bosingw are undisputable selections. What are picks?
  16. Darren Bent is a decent striker who guarantees you goals despite appearing quite infuriatingly erratic a times. If we buy Darren Bent for 10M, I will be happy and deem it good business.
  17. you should be ashamed You are a disgrace to human being.

    Black Power!

    What a ridiculously constructed post.
  19. Don't want him. Much prefer Mancini or Rikjaard.
  20. This is obviously against the flow but I honestly think appointing Ricky Sbragia is not as bad a move as some people find. Posters here compare Ricky Sbragia with the likes of Glenn Roeder, Sammy Lee and Toni Adams. However Ricky Sbragia does have a sterling records in managing reserves sides, winning quite a few Reserves leagues and cups. Glenn, despite his reputation of "youth coach", did not excel in Reserves level. Sammy Lee I don't know much too about him but I don't think he has really managed even a reserves side prior to his short sting as Bolton manager. Toni Adams has a shite records of managing whatever side so he is an expected failure. Ricky Sbragia on the other hand, has an excellent records of managing (inferior level to be fair and honest), and his short sting as Sunderland caretaker manager has produced some really good results. Sunderland and Niall Quinn are not stupid, they offer Sbragia 18 contracts so if things do not work out as wised then Sbragia can be dismissed with a rather small cost. Sbragia is the safest option Sunderland has got. So far the players seems to like him, results go his wy, he has a decent CV, he is cheap and available, he seems level headed and does not talk himself up like our Glenn Roeder. I think Sbragia willl do just fine.
  21. Welcome back Martin Jol. You are missed here. There are some people who keep screaming for your head but there are also some people who enjoy reading your posts.
  22. Unsurprisingly - NE5 being completely floored again. What a condescending idiot - worse still being patronising for the wrong facts and lies !!
  23. From The Guardian. Good read. I actually chuckled on the bold bit when Keegan said that. I love Keegan and I would like Keegan back in charge. This is no meant to be a dig at Keegan but I thought he played his populist card too much during his appointment and I cringed at these north-south comments by Keega.
