  1. Wenger converted Cole from a left winger to a left full back, the season before he made his break through SBR tried to sign him but Wenger turned the bid down (according to the Chronicle so probably bollix) Anyway I like N'Zogbia but find him frustrating at times because there's something missing, a spark or something, he just nevers seems that enthusiastic or happy on the pitch. Could well be to do with treatment etc but it's always going to make you easier to drop and not get the games you crave \ deserve etc. I think both N'Zogbia and the club's coaching staff need to put alot of work in, firstly to decide on which postion is his best and then on how he gets the best out of his talents. I don't think Charlie has the neccessary attitude and the staff don't have the time given that there are in temp situation at present.
  2. Thats my point very little. So how much more Premiership football have you seen him play to form your opinion?
  3. I'm not knee jerking anything (I haven't got the legs for it) I'm basing an opinion on what I've seen of him as a Newcastle player. I hope I'm wrong and I know it's a shit time to have joined the club and he's young and in a different league etc, etc but we're in a relegation fight and it would take a brave decision to gamble on what he's shown thus far and perhaps in training but I can't comment on that as I do see it. As I've said I hope I'm wrong and he scores the goals to save us but at present I do and can have doubts
  4. On what basis? The little I've seen of him he looks like one of those horses in the Grand National that keep going after the jockey has fallen off. In and around the action but never with a chance of being involved. I know it's early and it's a difficult time etc but he's shown nowt to me and his goal against Hull just hit him it was hardly a classic

Collocini yet again let someone drift in behind him and we conceded another goal, so that is Spurs, Blackburn and Everton all scoring with an easy run in behind the £10 million centre half but never mind eh
  6. Robert was by all accounts very outspoken in the dressing room tbh, dont know about the pitch Robert never seemed to demand the ball just simply expect it and you always new what was coming if he hadn't seen it for a while and that was a wild effort from about 40 yards. Don't get me wrong I'm not slagging him off as I loved watching him play and would always trade his faults the goals assists etc just mentioning that he seemed quiet on the pitch but compared to Charles he was noisy as anything. Just seemed an apt comparison as both French playing on the left and we get to here quite a bit on when the play is on the wing and I do realise the flaw in that N'Zogbia is a lot younger than Robert and the fact that I bet Robson's team was a lot easier to play in than this one.
  7. N'Zogbi must the quietest professional footballer ever, I sit very near the front in the Milburn paddock and I've only ever heard him ask for a pass once and he never gives a man on or anything like that. Even Robert was more vocal than him.

Faye has zero postioning sense and can't read the game at all. He's just a massive bloke who does really well in a physical battle but looking back at some the goals we conceded last season he was all over the place. Can't see how he's so missed now and whilst I've been pretty impressed with both Collo and Bassong it's far too early (especially in Bassong's case) to be praising them as highly as some of us are.
  9. BBC are reporting that the talks have stalled because the club want it to be on a match per match basis but he wants it longer term. Not sure if this is old news as I've been away from my desk most of today
  10. Let me sort the fuka out, 6 foot 6, 17 stone less than 10% body fat. I'd murder the fucker!
  11. This is what I believe too. It reminds me somewhat of the Gullit/Shearer head to head which damaged the club. (I still believe Gullitt would have got it right - just as I believe Dalglish would have) because he's gotten it right since? Gullit fantastic player but a poor manager and someone who could start an argument in an empty house
  12. That man slaughtered the club for months for the (in his eyes) terrible treatment of Marcelino FFS, of course he's going to want us to get rid of Keegan. Balague is a poor man's Marcotti (sp) in he's a twat as well
  13. How may forwards are available at the minute? Cover accross the whole back four - does that includee fullbacks? Haway man optimism is fine but reality has to bite at some point and I'm in now way a doom monger. I travel the whole country going to every game believing we'll get a result but this squad isn't very strong in all honesty Bassong and Nzog at lb, Geremi coloccini and Taylor at RB. Our current striker situation is bad due to injuries. So we go and buy a 20m striker, what happens when every1 is fit again. Its ok going and splashing the cash but remember we can onl;y have 11 players on the pitch at any 1 time. My opinion is if Smith, Shola and duff were all fit they would have gone yesterday and would have allowed us to buy. I am optimistic as I have seen how we have started and the players look an improvemtn on what we have last season. There is no one more than me yesterday hoping that it was us buying 30m player but reality is that its not the right time Bassong is a centre half who hasn't played in the premier league yet, N'Zogbia isn't a left back. Taylor and Collocini cover for right back they're the first choice centre halves. Why would you move Collocini from his best postion which is also the most important one. Forwards due to injuries yes but Viduka is always injured and has been since the end of last season, Owen is often injured which leaves Martins. Smith and Shola aren't could enough so hopefully Xisco can do a job but it still leaves doubts no? I'm not saying we should've spent huge on a big name just to get on SSN etc but they've been saying since last seaqson we needed aleft back and they haven't bought one. Like I said originally I'll still be going to every game with positive thoughts but this squad isn't a top 10 squad in my view, we may have a top 10 team if everyone stays fit but we've got 2 hopes of that and the 2nd one's Bob

  15. And when did Stoke move to the North West? Anyway, there's no room in football for players with confusingly similar names. This Faye and Faye business is irritating. I'm only just over the two Gary Stevens. Gary Steven was the Everton one. Gary Stevens was the Tottenham one who got wiped out by Vinny Jones by the touchline and has been crying since. Trevor Steven Everton winger, Gary Stevens (blonde) Everton fullback, Gary Stevens (dark) Spurs fullback
  16. I thought he picked a nasty injury playing for Hungry or u21's, could be wrong though
  17. There was also the rumour of a bust up with N'Zogbia pre or post Everton that I thought was media shite at the time but maybe........
  18. He's missed most of training this week, certainly train at the open day therefore he's got to be a doubt for Sunday given the amount of pre season he's already missed.
  19. We did for a while possibly the Souness season or maybe half him half Roeder (some manager that would be!) I always envisioned loads of fat American teens screaming you suck as the players came back onto the pitch
  20. Struggles when faced with a physical forward ala Villa away 2nd half last season when O'Neil brought Harewood on and went route one. OK or better when faced with teams who play more of a passing game.
  21. How many points have Everton picked up against the top 4 teams? Not many if any I think yet they are about to finish 5th, that's kind of the point that Keegan was making when he said the league was in danger of becoming boring and it's right in Scotland they have the old firm and we have the big 4 (I hate that term by the way. The biggest shame was under Sir Bobby for a couple of years we were on a par with Chelsea and Liverpool and well above Everton, Spurs and Villa et al. I know Roman has effected things some what at Chelsea but it's the falling behind of Everton and the like that hurts me far more than a loss to Chelsea yesterday when you look at the 2 squads both in size (numerical and the fact Cheslea are full of big bastards) and quality.
  22. Not sure where the evidence is that Terry Mac is useless though, you certainly didn't see him play both for Newcastle and Liverpool superb midfielder
  23. That's how I remember it as well, I think there were a few quotes as well about how Robson payed defenders smaller wages than forwards, he then blew this by signing Woodgate and making him one of the top end earners. Provided he was the one who decided all this of course.........
