OMG! We're gonna sign Del Piero anarl!

Buying players from Chelsea hasn't worked out for us all that well recently...
-
Where's the John Fender option?
-
It's all Sir Bobby's fault. Raising our expectations like that so cruelly.

If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. I think you need to ask: Is is broken? Not yet it's not. Will it break? Maybe, but why not wait and see? What are the risks involved? Could it harm the forum rather than help it? What you did last year with the takeover seemed to work, sticky a thread and update it with ACTUAL signings and confirmed interest stories, and leave all the other rumours to threads about the players being linked. Or just check nufc.com for their updates.

Bring back thread moderation, tbh.

Legendary commentary there. Fuck this, cunt that, twat this, wanker that. So Sam's been exposed for the incompetent clueless knucklehead that he is. Good. But... He's gone. Let it die. Move on. I appreciate there's strong views around about previous managers and their mistakes, but honestly, some of the contributions in this thread are beyond inane. Have a go at Sam by all means, fair dos. But, any need for the language? Above all, perhaps not try quite so hard to make yourselves look like braindead baboons rather than football fans.

He's mates with Duff on facebook though.

This bit is concerning to everyone. Totally with you on this. They'd better fucking not be. I hope they won't be - but who knows how things will end up?

This bit is concerning to everyone. Totally with you on this. I just don't think there's much we can do to stop Zoggy going now, regardless of any other considerations.

Shak? Erm...yes, yes that's what I meant. Shak. Nothing to see here, move along quietly. Thanks. I'm sorry. I realise now you meant the other "S" word. http://soccernet-akamai.espn.go.com/design05/DJ/20070502/shepherd_meg.jpg

Shak?

Surely the blame for this must lie higher up than Roeder. Not that I'd want to drag this thread down to an interminable FFS themed debate, the whole N'Zogbia issue is a bi-product of our recent past...it remains to be seen if Keegan can keep him happy...perhaps he will...but the rumours about Zoggy being London-bound have been around since he joined this club and they're certainly not going away anytime soon, are they? Shak - you raise a number of good points there - it's easy to see this whole affair in stark terms. Yes, the club has failed to manage the situation well. Yes, we're now going to pay a fucking huge price for this too - either in terms of what we'll have to fork out for a replacement, or what we'll have to fork out to keep Zoggy here and (hopefully) happy. We're still reaping the Shepherd whirlwind, I'm afraid. If he goes, then I hope we do get a respectable price for him, a more than adequate replacement, and I hope we learn a lesson and he can go on to be happy elsewhere.
-
Hey, Wull...I think you're oversimplifying what I was saying originally. A tad. If his family are elsewhere, surely that's a pretty strong indicator of there being a bit of a problem in that he must surely have a shorter-term view of his future at NUFC than you would like (must be difficult for him to put up with that situation, surely?)?

That's totally fair comment midds - I just can't help feeling that a team of grumpy gets, regardless of how talented they may or may not be, is never going to be a team that plays with élan, style or enthusiasm or indeed playing as a team - if they're not enjoying their work, they're going to be about as much use as a chocolate fireguard...or Alan Smith. Talent certainly hasn't been handled properly here in recent years, I think that much is self-evident...it's all been reduced to a numb£r$ game: pay them enough so they stay...and the net result has been rather corrosive I feel.
-
Got the raw ingredients there though imo. We should be looking to keep hold of talented kids and develop them. He's not the finished article I agree. It's ironic that he is probably leaving because he's spent so much time playing second fiddle to the finished article. Because I'm pretty sure Damien Duff is finished as a top player. I'd go along with that. Duff was an excellent player 5 years ago but he's very, very ordinary now. I'm not saying I condone N'Zogbia being a grumpy bastard, but watching Duff picked in preference to you must vex the lad. Sure, of course it would. But I still think he's got far too high an opinion of himself for his own good or for the rest of the team's good. Possibly.

I think it was Optomystyc Nyt who once recounted a tale on these forum pages of a brief encounter with N'Zogbia in Shearer's Bar - and young OpNyt had spoken to Zog in French praising him as being particularly talented, perhaps the best in the team that day and Zog had said he knew already. ..so he certainly has never been gifted or over-endowed in the modesty department...when he should have been. He said he was better than Duff. Well duhh. Ah well, you see...that puts a slightly different slant on things, and just goes to show that my memory's not what it was. Still think however talented a player Zoggy is, or isn't, or could potentially be if only...I think there's something about him that just suggests he's a "broken window" in the squad...a source of discontent etc. If losing him means we gain better team morale (assuming we do recruit a suitable replacement) then aye, all well and good.

or McGeady...

Aye, so in other words, his heart was never with the club anyway. Nee dedication, time for you to fuck off Zoggy son. Ta ta.
-
One less prima donna to worry about. Don't let the door bang your arse on your way out.
-
A true fan would have been away off to the bar to get his pint and pies in. Or possibly nipping off just after the second goal to go home for the same. A true fan would go to the games, etc. PWND, tbh.

This thread's not about N'Zogbia.
