Lejeune has also cost us points this season, probably more per game played than this fella. I'd be very wary of sticking Lejeune straight back into the side as he looks like he takes a long time to get his sharpness back. His first game back earlier in the season (Southampton away) he looked like he had the turning circle of a fuel truck. He also gave away a pen at a time when it looked like we were home and hosed.

My guess is that he's prettying the books by not heavily investing in either transfers nor wages. I'd say we've near enough broken even over that window, certainly in terms of wages. All reinforces the fact that he's very much on the market with it. That said, should we go down, he'll have risked everything for the sake of a few million quid.

Such an Ashley move this . We're still taking a chance on damaged goods. He's a really good player who is terribly injury prone and, if this doesn't work, we'll have gambled everything on him. So, rather than breaking the transfer record, really committing to Rafa and his vision for the squad we are taking a punt on a bloke with a ropey fitness record in the hope it works.
