  1. Yes to all of this. We had the option of Ian Wright on a free or signing his son. Ian Wright went to Celtic and we went to shit.
  2. I don't think you're far off with this. I reckon Rafa has probably told him 'one more shit window and I'm off' and Ashley is desperately trying to get rid of it before the inevitable, hence the very public advert. He'll want to sell it at the top and, in his view, it's probably there. I remember when we went down the first time and the rumoured figure was £90m + the debt so he's probably quite content to get somewhere close to his value and some shitty tie-in for Sports Direct.
  3. Knowing what we do now about the ownership I find it very hard to hold anything against previously 'loyal' or committed players leaving. He was the best keeper we've had in my lifetime without question.
  4. The Dad didn't even watch the game. He's basically telling his son that his team are 3 nil up and stuck him with the away fans. .
  5. He'd relegate Man City that liver lipped cunt.
  6. It would be the best relegation yet, the best. A relegation like no other. Nobody knows relegation like Donald. There is nobody that knows more. Nobody. The best.
  7. They did the same with Andy Carroll too in relation to the transfer request, no?
  8. Pardelesque he'd keep them up this season then get the boot next season. . Really hope they go for him.
  9. Gail from Coronation Street would probably do well for those cunts.
  10. Great shout - already looks like a trademarked Allardyce side tbh. Lumpy centre backs in Maguire and Morgan, tricky midfielder in Mahrez and Vardy grafting his bollocks off up top.
  11. Rumour was £210m for 80% stake.
  12. Bloke looks like he's just wandered into the studio after an all nighter tbf.
  13. Tend to agree with this. My gut feel is that he's held talks, through the laywers, with those that've signed NDA's and they are all miles away from his valuation hence this public appeal which tells the world it's available and puts out an olive branch in terms of staged payments. What that actually means is that he'll wait for more money over a longer term. No shit. At that level of wealth, who wouldn't?
  14. Bloke (some "expert") on totalsport saying its a game changer cause it means the buyer will be able to invest in the squad while still buying the club Tend to agree with Odin. None of the buyers of Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal's investors, Everton's new guy nor Bournemouths new guy have needed to stage payments to be able to invest in the playing squad. Strikes me that no 'big' players are sniffing if he's got to incentivise potential buyers with staged payments so publically. Possibly a nicer way of saying some money can be deferred until the HMRC case is closed. Potentially but normally when there is any type of liability or potential for wrongdoing to cost a buyer money then they would seek some from of covenant until it was resolved. So, say for example, the two sets of Lawyers agree that the potential liability of the tax case is £10m - there could be an agreement that this is set aside until a judgement is made one way or the other. I'd say that's what we would do in relation to the HMRC matter. I certainly don't see it as a deal breaker providing we can estimate the potential liaibilities and penalties etc. I don’t know how you could quantify relegation, possibly several leagues (not that I believe this is a football matter, just worst case) plus all that comes with it. No one really knows what the punishment will be if guilty and because of that it’s no normal liability clause needed. Their Lawyers will have already advised them on this, probably after discussions with HMRC's lawyers. If points deductions are a legitimate option then, I agree, selling the club would be much more difficult. If the advantage was purely financial/commercial then I'd expect some form of fine, penalties from HMRC and also the tax to be repaid. Ashley won't go quietly on it though so the lawyers could drag it out for ten years easily if they wanted to.
  15. It all sounds so scammy Can't afford the 400m all up front? Let's just go with a 5 year contract with low low monthly payments of 8m then! You deserve a football club and now your dreams can come true. And all you need to do is pay me £600m over the next ten years, wear Sports Direct on your shirts, shorts, boots and shinners. Better still, I'll go back to being Mr Invisible and you can take all of the shit for your terrible decision to get into bed with me. This man is a crook - just look at his dealings with Rangers and the issues they had in untangling the mess made by his grubby fat paws.

Or his asking price is too high it's scaring them off, same thing i suppose in the end. Yeah true - whether you pay £20 for a Mars Bar today or you pay £0.50p today and then pay off the remaining £19.50 over the next 6 months, you've still overpaid.

And if the buyers need our revenues to finance the deal to buy the club, we'll not have much money to spend going forward as it'll all have to be fed back into paying Ashley. Exactly this. It's basically like buying a new house, paying the mortgage every month but also paying the previous owner rent on top for x number of years. You'd have to think that would seriously hinder us being able to compete even if the new owner(s) has the best of intentions.

  20. There might be something in that. I honestly think Rafa is only here because he's been given an indication from Ashley that he'll sell it to a 'good buyer' meaning Rafa can grow the club the way he wants. This is where the talk of Rafa's new contract came from. Clearly, it's easier to sell the club with a world class manager than with John Carver cleaning the outside of the stadium with his tongue every afternoon after training.
  21. I'm hoping firstly, and more than anything, for a Mike Ashley tie-in free deal. Getting rid of him has to be the priority. Best case for the next owner has to be well funded and well intentioned imho. That doesn't mean that they have to be a country nor state just that they've got funds to enable us to compete. Being honest, I'm fearful of any sane buyer being able to do a deal with this heinous creature that completely rids us of him.
  22. Means that any buyer wouldn't have to rock up with £350m cash. He'd take £xxxm up front and then £xxm per year ongoing. What he'd expect in exchange for such generousity is anyone's guess but, my guess, is that it'll mean he will still have a piece of the pie in some from for a fuckload more time yet.
  23. No he's not - he's desperate to get a deal on good terms whilst being able to maintain his influence for many years to come.
  24. Even the statement is snidey as fuck. Just get this cunt out of our lives and bring us a genuine owner with some mild intent please.
