I'm pleased in some ways, well most ways, but a bit disappointed with the overall quality of the signings. In particular, I'd have a bit of a statement signing to add to the obvious quality of Ritchie and Gayle. That said, I'm delighted to be rid of the very obvious mercenaries and it's quite clear to see that Rafa has gone for character as a priority and he's clearly building a squad he feels is capable to working together, over a long tough season, to achieve the club's aim of instant return. I hate to think of how this summer would have gone if we hadn't managed to convince Rafa to stay and I'm absolutely delighted he has stayed to oversee phase 1 of the rebuild. On that basis, he's made a fairly emphatic start.

Today was a huge win. Frankly, delighted to take three points off them as I would have been happy with a point pre-game given the lack of forwards. In particular, it was important with Villa and Norwich both dropping points. Referee was a joke and the standard of officiating at this level has been woeful to date.
