Superb post and further evidence that we need to be patient and play the long game. That simply can’t come with a revolving door for managerial appointments. The owners must stick with Howe. There’s nobody better to represent them, the club nor the region.

It would be a hugely concerning move in respect of the ownership groups understanding/plan imho. Mourinho would represent a 'win today and fuck tomorrow' type of appointment whereby the desire to be seen as successful outweighs any thoughts around sustainability or coherent long-term plan. And I say that as someone that really likes Mourinho. You'd have to say though, it would appear a hugely out of character appointment given everything they've preached since they joined around 'the journey' etc and also a long way away from their two final candidates when Bruce got the heave-ho. That they reached an Emery/Howe conclusion last time is a massive positive imho and indicated they know what they're doing. On the subject of Howe, it blows my mind how anybody could even countenance him leaving/being fired at any point in the foreseeable future. The fella has been nothing short of incredible and sadly, for him, it appears he's becoming a victim of his incredible success here in some eyes. For me, he's got an absolute minimum of into the first quarter of next season before there'd even be a discussion around his future. Did anyone seriously ever think this journey, post takeover, would just be a 'sunshine and roses' meander to the top of the footballing pyramid without any hiccups, poor form or crisis? Mental if so. I'd not be at all surprised if he pulls us a result from nowhere in the next few games and the Howe Out brigade on social media disappear back under whatever the fuck rock they've been hiding until the next blip comes along. They just need our support for a while man. Christ, he's done more than enough for us fans since he joined, let's just give the bloke some faith.

We were quiet all first half. Gallowgate may have been decent but the other 3/4 of the ground was shite.

Just back in and haven't read the thread but a few thoughts; - Bruno. Incredible. Fuck knows how you'd even begin to think about replacing him. He's literally our heartbeat. - Emil Krafth - superb. Entered the game when everything was to play for, picked up the speed of it, never got beaten, contributed going forwards and looks fitter than ever. Excellent. - Miley - kid must be feel on top of the world. - Their number 4 (Tosin) was brilliant at times. He's going to the top iyam. I'd take him here in a heartbeat. Fucking unit an'all. Obviously a huge kick in the bollocks to have lost Schar and Joelinton. Atmosphere was very flat in the first half and a bit better second but overall a bit meh. Outsung by fucking Fulham fans at the end of the first half for a good 20 mins. That's got to be a first . I probably shouldn't say it, but fuck it, it's just an observation not a criticism but Lewis Hall looked really nervy and generally pretty uncomfortable to me in his 15 minute run out. Looks like maybe his youthful confidence has taken a bit of a knock (understandly). I'm pleased he got another run out though and hope he gets plenty more over the rest of the season. Overall, a massive 3 points and a great spirit lifter ahead of next Tuesday.

That's what I'd do tbh. Ship out Dubravka, Karius and Gillespie in the same window and buy a genuine elite number one, Pope stays for cups and as the bench option and sign a young up and coming starlet to learn off them two and act as cover.

Obviously can't say for certain but I felt he just pulled out of a few situations tonight that he's previously not done and can only imagine that potential suspension was playing on his mind. It's his favourite competition and I can't imagine he'd want to miss a minute, let alone a game tbh.
