  1. Isn’t he the kit man’s (Ray) son? If so, wasn’t he quite highly thought of at one point?

    Nick Woltemade

Been clear for a while that he needs to be surrounded by bodies with some fluidity in the system. Pleased for him today.

    Joe Willock

Really looking forward to him leaving tbh. Ceded midfield control when he came on in place of Sandro.
  4. If Carlsberg did transfer rumours…… I’d fucking pay for a gold plated taxi to drop the bloke off. Utterly SHITE.
  5. Venison still in great nick these days. Lives in California I think.

Also been training with the first team iirc?

    U23s & Academy

Loads of them already play up. Some of them are playing up by three years (Ghanem, Flack and Robinson all under 15’s have had game time for the under 18’s for example). That’s actually one of the clubs usp’s when pitching NUFC to potential signings and their parents. A very genuine route to senior football as quickly as they’re ready. Some of the under 16’s train with the first team squad on occasion too. There’s genuinely high hopes for a good few of them but obviously a long way to go.
  8. All very fair points. I think we could probably do with an effective number 10 'type' player this summer irrespective of what system we play as we've lacked a clever creator the whole time Bruno was out injured. You're right about the wingbacks being key to this system but, again, we're probably going to have to sign two this summer anyway with Tino/Trippier going. If one of those can be Hugo Bueno he could also the first option to cover for Hall whilst you'd have the new RB and Miley for the RWB position if needed (maybe Murphy too if we're desperate and he stays). I take the point about being wedded to a system but we've got the likes of Ramsay, Joelinton and Wissa () who could play out wide if we needed to go back to a 4-3-3 in times of desperation.
  9. I’d go for Boro out of that lot tbh.

    Mark Gillespie

Keith Gillespie in pegs for this one.
  11. Should just pretend they’re the Mackems and roll over again. In all seriousness, would love to see us go mental for this one. Play Pope up top, Burn centre mid, Shahar left wing and Elanga on the right.
  12. fine on a big screen, mental on a phone screen.

    Harvey Barnes

    What else does he bring?

    Harvey Barnes

Flogging him if there’s a buyer.

    Harvey Barnes

Part of squads. Never been a consistent starter over the length of a season. There’s a reason for that.

    Harvey Barnes

Aye but the problem is what he contributes in the three games where he's not scoring. Shag all. That's the issue with him imho.

    Harvey Barnes

There's no way I'd want him starting every week tbh. Bench option only if we've got any ambition to be pushing into the top 5 next season. He's hopeless when he's not scoring. Cannot beat a man, doesn't have a trick, isn't particularly quick and isn't that strong either. He's literally just a finisher. A very good one but he's far more of a centre forward profile playing out wide than a winger in the traditional sense.

    Lewis Hall

I'd have dropped Botman ages ago tbh. I think Burn is more reliable in that LCB spot. Having said that, I thought Botman was very good yesterday.
  19. When I saw the team selected for the Forest game, I presumed it would be 3-5-1-1 or 5-3-1-1 depending on whether we had possession or not. To me, this made perfect sense i.e: overload their tired midfield and also have an extra centre back on the pitch to cope with their physical forwards who all carry the profile of attacker we've struggled against for a while. I was really gutted to see it was a 4 with Hall shoehorned at RB. IMHO, it makes sense to transition to this system, particularly if we're sticking with Woltemade. Advantages being; 1) Woltemade is better when he has plenty of bodies around him imho. Having a 5 man midfield (in possession) would really suit him and give him bodies nearby and runners off him PLUS a forward option ahead of him (in this case, Osula). 2) Plays to Hall's strengths as LWB. 3) Gives Botman and Thiaw an extra body making us much more robust and less likely to concede as many soft goals. 4) MASSIVELY reduces our need for wingers now Gordon is going and the others are either shite (Elanga), aging (Murhpy) or inconsistent (Barnes). 5) 'Only' requires us to sign a competent RWB (if Tino leaves), another CB and a competent forward plus a LWB reserve or just buy Hugo Bueno who can over both RWB and LWB slots. We need a new GK irrespective of the system. 6) Allows us to ship out any/all of the following; Elanga, Wissa, Murphy, Barnes and Gordon. 7) Would also help Ramsay in having more options around him and also more of a free role. So, next season, we'd be looking like this; NEW GK (POPE) THIAW (SCHAR?) NEW ELITE CB BOTMAN (BURN) TINO (OR NEW RWB) HALL (NEW SUB LWB) TONALI (OR HIS REPLACEMENT) BRUNO RAMSAY (JOELINTON) WOLTEMADE NEW FORWARD (OSULA)

    Lewis Hall

I am of the view, hes got a gentlemans agreement with Burn to play him ahead of the WC tbh. Likely in exchange for a squad only role next season and him essentially becoming the new Trippier i.e: vocal cheerleader if/when times get hard. He probably also wants to be playing Hall for his WC chances also hence shoehorning him in at RB.
  21. 10 minutes of nothingness that tbf.
  22. Is it a fairly new guy now?
  23. Curtis Jones has had an utter mare today
  24. Remember them being fucking freezing when you sat on them in the winter matches, the wind blowing through the ground was fucking biblical. Used to sit there shivering my tits off.
