  1. I agree with that for the most part. My main worry is the lack of strength throughout our core. If any of the following get badly injured we are really struggling;- Krul Colo Tiote Cisse (less so, given the general cover the likes of HBA/Marv could provide if we were desperate but he'd still be a huge loss). When you add in Steven Taylor's generally poor injury history, I'd say we need a fairly established centre back to come into the side and provide competition for Taylor (or vice versa) if/when fit. I can see that Debuchy is the priority signing given that RB is a potential position where, if strengthened, that could really push us on as a team. I'd also say CB, Left Sided Forward (if we're going 4-3-3) and a fairly strong back up CM would be ace, as you've mentioned. As I've said elsewhere, I'll be really pleased if the club spaff £3m or so on development players like Bigi and Good in the hope that one or two of them make it.
  2. Reads so much better with some context.

Makes a change from Ghanians trying to get rid of Sunderland shirts tbf.
  4. Would have been an option to replace Santon; http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,90135.msg3794406.html#msg3794406
  5. Shiteing himself in possession of a football will always limit his game to an absolute maximum of mediocrity in football club terms, hence the reason Reading are after him. His athleticism is fine, he can tackle reasonably and he seems fairly low maintenance so, from that perspective, I can see the argument to keep him as a squad player. Not arsed either way just as long as he's not getting too many regular starts at right back next season. A real potential to move the first team on in this area and it should be grasped this summer.
  6. I wouldn't care the winner really took my eye in the parade ring but I'd already backed huckle's fucking tip. Bah!
  7. Better training facilities, better fans and Marty's Parties. It's a no brainer for him unfortunately.
  8. Deffo go to the same dentist. Fucking hell.
  9. He'd go. Probably bollocks of course. If he went there I wouldn't even feel a teeny bit of guilt for wishing his knees fell off.
  10. Agree with that. They can be criticised for many things but their transfer policy and subsequent dealings over the last few years have been second to none. Praise where it's due and all that.........................
  11. Is there anyone, more well known, that you can compare him too Unbelievable?

  15. Yep - forgot about Xisco too. Hopefully, when he does go, that'll be another two players we can bring in to enhance the squad. For all we had plenty of quality about the first team last year our squad depth was really lacking in quality. This is where we should be looking to improve once we've brought in the main targets. Also, makes sense of the alleged interest in development players, in the hope one or two of them can become squad players over the next 12-24 months. I'd be really keen on Ashley to throw a few million at kids with potential (like Curtis Good). You've only really got to get one through and you've paid for it two or three times over. I'm sure this will be right up on the agenda for them though.

Cuellar is such a typical signing for the Mackems for where they are now. Ageing, will demand top dollar and never really been a top player. He's such a MoN signing it's untrue. I'm delighted they're picking up players like this. If MoN spits the dummy out (which is inevitable at some stage) he's going to leave them saddled with an overrated, overpaid bunch of players with no resale value between them. His reign will take some getting over. He's going to leave them worse than Bruce did at this rate.
  17. It's guesswork, of course, but the point stands that we can vastly improve the quality and depth of the squad without having to expand the wage bill. This is a huge plus when you consider the likes of Cuellar will demand a big signing on fee and in excess of £40k a week for the Mackems who already have a shite wage:turnover ratio.
  18. What would you think he was on?
  19. That's a fair old amount of weekly salary walking out the door/being sold. Roughly:- Smith - £60k Lovenkrands - £20k Guthrie - £10k Best - £15k Forster - £2.5k Ranger - £2.5k £110k per week (give or take). If we bring in Debuchy (£30k), Anita (£10k), De Jong (£35k) and Douglas (£30k) OR equivalents of the same status/experience we'll still have a saving whilst hugely improving the quality and depth of the squad.

The Express and The Daily Mail seem to be the most 'reliable' when it comes to NUFC Transfer Rumours/News due to undoubted links to the clubs upper echelons. Even then, there's still no way they get as much from us as they do from other clubs imho.

Looks a bit like Distin in style (long gait, athletic, big tall fella) come to think of it.

. Oh yeah - I forgot about that. The most important signing this clubs made in about 10 years. FFS, read my post. 4 years isn't really the "next few seasons". It might as well be when we prefer to sell with a year left if they won't renew. See Simpson etc this year.
