    Leon Best

He needed that today. Good finish.

    Fucking turgid today.
  3. I don't usually mind Wilkins but he was an absolute joke today. Hate to be all RTG here but this seems a theme whenever we're on Sky, after that cunt commentating on the Liverpool game. If anything was ever to make you want to be deaf it would be listening to those arseholes over the two games, fucking dire.

Also, he worked his bollocks off at times today.

What a player we have here. Wilkins shite on 'playing the odds' should absolutely go out of the window when you have a talent like HBA. You let the other side worry about him, not whinge on about giving the odd ball away. He really should be our Modric or Silva with everything revolving around him.

    Danny Guthrie

Grew into the game and one of his best for us. He was up against absolute shite in their central area though. Still, well done.
  7. We have to pressure Hill and Derry here. Give Benny free reign. Guthrie growing into the game as the half went on and Besty needed that goal. Expect a very tight opening to the second half when we adopt a more rigid, organised formation.

Expect the home crowd to be calling for him after 30 minutes.
  9. Look at the claret on the blokes trousers. Seem's Ober slipped and miscued.................aimed for the left arm, got the right leg. Nobody can say he's not consistent.
  10. Agree that he looks absolutely bereft of that youthful arrogance/confidence he enjoyed with us. He just didn't seem to be fazed no matter who he was doing battle with at centre back. To me, he looks like a little boy lost. I think the move was too soon, too big and he's going to take some time to grow into the position, club etc. Still don't seem him flopping completely though.
  11. I still expect to see things come together for him at Liverpool (unfortunately). He'll never be a £35m player but I can still see him scoring them double figures every year.
  12. Give a fuck next time! Gutted! I even went as far as checking the odds (11/2) and then thought against it, sticking with the much safer bet of both teams to score at City. Penis.
  13. Both teams to score in the Citeh/LPool game @ 4/5. Stuck a tenner on it to return £18.
  14. Fancy Spurs 2-0 tonight but don't think I can be fucked with it.
  15. Looking forward to seeing his press pack chums start having a go at him, one by one, when he gets the England job. He's a fucking soundbite machine but will end his career with failure managing England.
  16. Been thinking about this release clause a bit and I'm not hugely worried. Ultimately this comes down to where Ba wants to ply his trade and who will offer him the best terms to do so. I should think salaries and broad conditions at various clubs are very common knowledge in football and he'll know (or his Agents will be able to find out) what other clubs would be broadly prepared to offer him. If Ba is happy here and knows he can get £x per week more elsewhere then the first port of call (you'd think) would be Dekka's office to renegotiate his terms. I'm pretty sure this is what happened with Tiote. Club takes a risk on buying x player, player performs above expectations, club realises it's asset has future value = club protects it's interest and player gets more dosh. The risk here is that we are signficantly underpaying him (in his/his agents view) or that NUFC are not prepared to renegotiate/come to the table with a better deal for both parties. Thrown in to the mix is the medical issue and the risk that we give him a new contract today and he fucks himself in the next few months. But then, that's what insurance is for, I guess? All the clause does, in my opinion, is hasten the discussions around reviewing his contract from NUFC's viewpoint.
  17. Strange one this and obviously a fair bit of truth in the rumour. What I struggle with is what Redknapp seeks to gain from the slip. For £7m, there would be better teams available to Ba than Spurs. The club don't really have the option of maintaining the status quo and will have to either offer him an improved deal (a la Tiote) or resign themselves to his departure in this window or the next. The more I think about it the clearer it becomes that model for the club could potentially be about maintaining premiership football whilst making a profit on player sales through a very effective scouting network. Carroll deal, Tiote would fetch a huge profit and even Ba at £7m would be a very healthy profit if there was some belief that a player could be bought with a view to improving him and doing the same - selling at a profit, this may be a goer. So, in my mind, this may be less about Ba and his clause and more about whether the club feel they can re-invest some of the fee and find another profit maker over the summer, given we are now safe this season.
