Can't believe he is a left back based on the positions he gets himself into on the clips I've seen Looks truly two footed, strong, nippy dribbling but not very quick.

Nunes - Ugarte - Neves would both be one of the most talented midfields in the league while also one of the worst. Like a super version of our Butt-Smith-Geremi one.

Did I just imagine that he has confirmed in an interview that he needs treatment on his ankle when the season is over? Think opposing teams knows it as well. Been a few times now where they've gone in on his ankle intentionally to wind him up, and it seems to have worked a few times where he's been really angry and/or frustrated by some tackles, probably out of anxiety of making things worse.

More suited to our style of play physically (taller, stronger, faster). More used to our style of play. Looks to have better technique, is younger with higher ceiling. I'd say it's easier to stand out in a poor team than in a good team stats wise, especially when the whole team is tailored to get the most out of someone like Maddison. Besides, 8 goals and 13 assists compared to 10 goals and 9 assists isn't a huge difference. I bet Szoboszlai has prevented more goals being conceded compared to lazy James Maddison.

One being better than the other.

Today, I feel blue.

Same, and was painfully obvious he was the better player out of him, Shelvey and Diame. Should have been given more playing time to get back in shape after his injury despite the form the other two were in. Will never agree with the people saying he was weak for moving to get more playing time instead of fighting for his spot. On an unrelated note, why do all of our recent-ish class managers do some weird stuff that is just infuriatingly annoying? SBR playing Viana wide left instead of phasing out Speed, Benitez not playing Merino, Howe persisting with Burn (let's hope we don't see Isak starting wide left regularly too to now to accommodate both him and Wilson).

Fucking Arsenal putting up that performance against us at St. James' Park just to follow it up with this crap, which also leaves Brighton more motivated to get something from their game against us as well.

Comments like these man Please take a deep breath and count to 10 before you hit that post button.

We looked tired as fuck throughout the entire game. So much sloppy play. Not sure if it's due to nerves or simply expecting the game to be easier than it was. Lucky point in the end imo.
-
Shocking start, but Howe has done excellent changes by putting Isak central and Bruno down as the holding mid. We have more control on the game now.
-
Absolute worst thing that could have happend. They'll batten the hatches as much as you'll ever see a team batten them now.
-
Played his best football for us to date on the left against Southampton, and faded away when swapped sides with Murphy, didn't he?
-
I say that about most talented midfielders with potential to be better than an average mid table player.

Szoboszlai > Maddison

Feel like some people are a bit over protective? Some people points out he had a poor game against Arsenal and others interpret that as these people saying Bruno is shit. Yes, he is allowed to have a poor game, even two or three, maybe even four. I don't think calling a poor performance poor is slagging him off (unless people are calling out bed wetters in the match thread and not people in this thread). "As phenomenal as he has been, is there a game against the very top teams where he has dominated/played a blinder?" gets interpreted to "Bruno isn't good enough to play against the top teams" which is not what is being said. Bruno has played well against top teams as far as I can remember, but I think the observation is fair that he hasn't dominated a game against top sides?

I think that's a bit of a stretch. Johnson, Carrick, Cole & Defoe were much younger than the Leicester players. The Leicester players are supposed to be at the peak of their career now. Hardly a player under 25 in their starting line-ups with exception of Daka & regen guy being 24 and Luke Thomas 21. Johnson was 19, Carrick was 23, Cole was 22, Defoe was 22 respectively when they left West Ham.

Turns 33 fairly early into next season. Hope he's got the legs of Cafu to be a regular for us for the next 2-3 seasons.

So I'm not the only one that keep forgetting Ashby?

Last time Nottingham Forest scored 3 goals in the first half was in 1995, against Southampton. They were 3-1 up and lost the game 3-4.

Not to single you out, but this is becoming a meme.

There has to be a way to make them more effective on set pieces....like...bundle Schar, Botman, Burn, Longstaff, Joelinton & Isak together so no opposition player can come in between them and have them rotating in a big circle like a carousel and explode into different areas as the ball is played? We have to be the tallest team in the league, and probably one of the worst on set pieces?
