Do you want Howe to change the system to fit Wilson and Isak into the same team?

Henry didn't come to Arsenal under the same premise though. Wenger had coached Henry at Clairefontaine and thought he was a striker even back then. Henry was then brought in on the back of a disappointing spell at Juve where he had not performed well as LWB/LCM/LW. Isak is coming in as our record signing, on the back of doing well as a striker his entire career. If he ends up not performing well as a striker it would make more sense to try him elsewhere at a later stage, but why try to give him a new unfamiliar role now? It's easy to say position doesn't matter it's how he's utilized in that position, but by putting him out wide and not asking him to do the defensive work Almiron does, we will have to give up defensive cover elsewhere, in addition to having less guarantees that his new role will work well while we know what he can do as a striker. If we ask him to do Alimiron work, he'll have way less energy to do the offsensive stuff we bought him to do in the first place. I just don't see why Howe would revamp our whole play style that has worked so well just to accommodate one player. Imagine how great it would be to have the option of putting Wilson on for Isak or vice versa during a game? We've been crying out for a bench with options. Now that we have a chance to have that, people want to shoehorn our perceived best players into the starting line-up while maintaining an uninspiring bench?

When Howe says a player is "close" and "we'll have to see" i get the feeling now that it always means the player will not play and he only says it to keep opposition managers guessing. Do we have an example of a player ending up playing that I can't remember?

Maddison, Barnes & Regen all pretty slow so are never able to get past their man, and heavily rely on having someone to play through. Vardy not fast enough anymore. They are so toothless with this squad.

Sounds like the moment I typed in the match thread that our players should be instructed to run to the point they least want the ball to land to have the best chance of getting to the second ball from Wood.

More overtime = more playing time so that stat doesn't really give a good indication of how much/little time we wasted. I hate watching Everton waste time every time they take the lead these days, so as long as the referees are consistent with adding to the overtime due to time wasting I don't have much to complain about.

Fully fit squad with no new incomings I think it'll be ASM, Wilson or Isak, Almiron. I understand many are keen to see new players play as much as possible even if it means playing them out of position, but neither Wilson or Isak are wingers and I think shoehorning both in the current formation we play will be to the detriment of the team. They have as good as no experience playing in that position if you look at they entire careers up to now: Wilson: Isak:

Fair to say we've been looking for someone this whole summer, but they need to want to join us, be the right type of player with the right type of character and at the right price. We'll get there soon enough if not this transfer window.

You wouldn't be saying that if Anderson got a slightly better touch on the ball and created a few centimeters extra space to fire off a shot into the back of the net. It was a good decision. There's also probably 10+ decisions afterwards where you could justify with hindsight being 20/20 that X player made a poor one.
