Fonseca has been managing since 2005. Hardly up and coming The days of 3 years rolling and 8 year contracts is over. If we get someone like Gerrard, Howe or Martinez to steady the ship I'm not really concerned, and they should be more easily replaceable when/if they have taken us as far as they can.

I get the impression that his intentions are good, but his body is too slow to perform the actions he's decided on. I don't know what it is - lack of coaching/instructions/conditioning/mental strength or a combination of some/all. He looked very competent at the beginning of the match yesterday. Great intensity, got stuck in, quick and accurate forward passes - then spurs took over the initiative and he faded away to the hopeless player we've been accustomed to see - chasing shadows and not impacting the game in any meaningful way.

Two first Spurs goals entirely preventable with decent coaching. I struggle to really fault any of the players or set-up for what was exceptional play by Spurs for their third though.

The speculation is that it is a rolling 3 year contract, and if the £8m is true it is assumed that the rolling contract is "renewed" every day where if sacked he is due to be compensated for a full 3 year period left on the contract. It sounds so bonkers that I can't believe that is true, but you never know with Ashley and Charnley Regardless of whether that is the case or not, they should just sack him now based on the contract expiring after this season, and let a civil court decide who has the right interpretation of the contract.
