  1. He seems tailor made for the PL though with his speed and physicality. I'd be more sceptical if it was a fox in the box type of striker with smart movement and decent finishing but no other defining qualities. If we sell Isak, this is the type of player we need to take a gamble on so we have the chance to improve the team in multiple positions rather than just signing someone proven ready to be a like for like replacement for almost as much as we get for Isak.
  2. None of those clubs transfer policies are even remotely comparable to our first few transfer windows until psr caught up with us. Genuinely baffles me that you can entertain the idea that we could have gone on like that. Yeah we could have sold the womens team or some property (if the club owns anything?) to cook the books and scrape by for a season or two, but its very short sighted.
  3. All those other clubs had and have a much higher commercial income than us, and we had to fire sale two of our brightest talents to barely comply with psr. It simply wasn't a sustainable policy.
  4. Are you speculating whether we could have continued to buy players with a net spend of £100 - 150m every season?
  5. He could play like Lionel Messi during the tour, run circles around the other players in training and he still wouldn't get a sniff of action ahead of Gordon and Barnes this season. Absolutely needs to get out on loan somwhere appropriate.
  6. Nah, I'll just wait and see what happens instead of worrying and being influenced by cunts that make a living by driving up engagement and clicks.
  7. He's on strike now? We could use a sticky post on here with updates to keep up with all these new, trustworthy confirmed news.
  8. Kinda feels like a new thing for them with Kane. They usually spend a bit on young foreign talents, and rest is just hovering up all the best german talents on expiring contracts.
  9. Is c) he's genuinely injured confirmed to not be an option? Or are we still going by twitter peoples speculations and filling in the gaps?
  10. Or he turned up to training injured, got examinated by the medical team whom concluded he shouldnt train, so he left? This thread is moving at 100mph so apologies if I've missed something other than twitter speculations some have adopted as the truth.
  11. If we take a Brighton approach to recruitment, that doesn't automatically mean we have to take a brighton approach to selling.
  12. Nothing wrong with those clauses imo. These are just pre-agreed terms/fees between clubs. Ultimately its the players choice. Trafford could reject man citys contract offer if he wanted to come here.
  13. There's a lot of mental gymnastics in play to reach this conclusion from "exploring options"
  14. Don't know which individual to blame for something that may not have anyone in particular to blame? TO THE MITCHELL THREAD!
  15. Even if he wants to leave and we don't get an acceptable offer in, I have 0 concern that Isak won't give his all for us this season. Go drown yourself Luke.
  16. I'm hoping the time it takes for us to conclude deals is because we need to be extremely careful with what we spend to stay on the right side of psr. The first january and summer windows after the takeover when we didn't have this constraint to the same degree things happend fairly quickly as far as I can recall.
  17. Nothing wrong with someone exploring options. If he gets an offer from someone that is better than we can/want to offer, they offer us a fee we are willing to accept and he wants to leave then good bye, good luck and thanks for the good times. With how the last few windows have gone, until the rules changes, it almost feels necessary to make a huge, albeit unpopular, sale in order to have the leeway within psr for us to be able to spend what is required to take the next step.
  18. Only wanted Man Utd. Great deal. How big is the wage cut when you don't qualify for CL?
  19. Probably not as bad as you now fear It was fairly cringe to watch though.
  20. Think you're just projecting your own feelings through Eddie here. He loves this type of language. Just watch his high performance interview.

    Yoane Wissa

Just me who's flabbergasted that Wissa is 28 years old, a little over a month shy of 29? Feels like he came onto to scene two seasons ago. Good player. Wouldn't mind him as a stop gap if Howe and other decision makers feel his fee is worth it and don't have any younger alternatives with higher potential identified.

    Sven Botman

Can we blame this totally real, crippling injury on Paul Mitchell somehow?
