Wonder where that leaves Digne and Moreno.....or Maatsen for that matter. Haven't seen Villa enough to tell, but in my head there's very little between the three of them besides that Digne and Moreno both has passed 30.

Agree, but probably the most predictable transfer we'll see this transfer window

Is it naive to assume people see this as a last chance to get incredible world wide exposure for their new betting companies before the door shuts on gambling companies as sponsors end of 25/26 season? I don't really get whats in it for them besides that, unless they are shell companies of their owners who wants to pump money into their clubs and at the same time improve their FFP-limit.

Ideally it makes it easier for Howe to change between Hall and Kelly at LB based on tactical approach to a game rather than opting for a settled back 4 no matter opposition throughout the entire season.

ETH is a good manager. Think they are doing the right thing to stand by him. Would have loved it if they sacked him and got Southgate instead.

I like Dubs. He's not good enough to be a reserve keeper that plays the majority of the matches in a season, but solid enough to cover ~5-10 games or so. People seem to judge him compared to other starting keepers in the league rather than other reserve keepers, which isn't really fair. Good deal for everyone with the Celtic link. We free up space to improve our reserve keeper spot just in case Pope's shoulder goes to hell again, Celtic upgrades Hart in the process.

The biggest obstacle for me when assessing if a player can make the step up from a league like the Eredivisie is if they have the physicality needed and can handle the higher tempo. In general players coming from Holland are usually very good technically. Minteh looks strong, works hard and is fast as fuck. Got no doubt he can make the step up.

German football isn't close to as poor as some on here seem to think. Look at their achievements in Europe this year. Look at some of the teams in the 2. Bundesliga - Hertha, HSV, Schalke, Kaiserlautern, Hannover, Dusseldorf, Karlsruher, Nurnberg - all big teams recently in the Bundesliga and most with European pedigree. St. Paulis achievements have been remarkable.

He is one of the top talents in the world football though. Show me another 19 year old in his position with a full season of top league football & champions league with the stats below. Edit: Add full international as well.

Seems like your mate is living on the stereotype he got plastered with when he first arrived at Feyenoord, rather than actually looking at what he accomplished later on in the season.

It's not a prediction. Not sure how many more "potential" clarifications I could possibly put in to make that clear like
-
It's not as much how it looks, but rather what it represents I reckon. Will buy the kit this year for the first time since 2010.
-
I'd rather take a points deduction than selling Minteh to Liverpool tbh Not only because he is one of the most highly rated talents in the world, but because its Liverpool.
-
Chelsea could have had Salah & De Bruyne through their entire careers and gone on to become an even greater club than they are (trophy wise). Arguably the two of the best players in the PL the last 10 years. Look at the state they are in now. If Liverpool are prepared to pay that kind of money for a 19 year old Minteh, that tells me they see him as a potential replacement for Salah. Would be ridiculous to sell Yes we may have to sell some talents to comply with FFP, but hope the club is wiser than selling the type of talent that could potentially be a generational one who has shown nothing but progress and playing regularl top league football since he moved to Europe 2 years ago.
-
21 years old keeper with 1 season of league 1 and 1 season of PL experience to train, learn, provide competition and cover for Pope? Sounds good to me.
-
Good. I'm probably naive, but hopefully they improve on how to use it to avoid insane delays on decisions. Too scarred by awful (and/or corrupt) decisions going against us on a regular basis before VAR. We still get the odd one, like the one this season I can't for the life of me remember, and Crystal Palace last season, but the frequency is a lot lower than it used to be. We also seem to get a lot more penalties we'd never in a million years get before. Net positive for us.
-
Liverpool are really meticulous with their transfers. It's not down to Arne Slot, but a whole transfer team. If they are prepared to pay that kind of fee for Minteh now, I'd put good money on us being better off long term by keeping him and playing him regularly starting next season. He's the blueprint of what Howe expects of his wingers so would slot in nicely rather than having to take the Hall route.
-
Don't think so personally. If he plays well he'll obviously stay, but if he doesn't and ends up on the bench I can't see who would be able to justify matching his wages to get him let alone pay a transfer fee on top of that. Just see how we've struggled with our over paid free transfer cast offs.

If true, €20m sounds like a special Man Utd only offer from Ineos.
-
Surprised it was only 4 year deal. Guess it sets him up for his last free transfer at 30.
-
Difference between "home shirt" and "authentic home shirt"?
-
Yet nobody cares beyond the 30 people that attend the matches.
-
Obviously concerned about his fitness record, but good piece of business on paper. Can cover many positions, fairly young, solid squad player.
-
Wouldn't say they are impressive finds as they were well known talents. Credit to Palace for having the guts to go in early on them and having confidence they could step up to a higher level though. Wish we would take that gamble more often. Last young talent we picked up from the Championship while being in the PL being Lascelles in 2014..?
