Liverpool are getting cooked here!
-
World class VVD going walkabout.
-
Hoping it's a case of too many cooks for them this season and they have no chemistry and Salah gets the hump. The two full backs are very attacking minded too, so those channels can really be exploited in transitions. Really hope it all goes tits up after all the money spent and the typical glazing that has followed from the people that think that's all football is about.
-
Palace have looked the more dangerous team overall. Salah looking a bit lost so far.

Sensational kit!
-
Liverpool looking very dodgy defensively.

The state of Maeteta on that one on one. Wow!

My God Balague told BBC Radio 5 Live's Euro Leagues podcast: "What a deal. Everyone is amazed. "We knew of the interest of Newcastle towards Isak. It makes sense in the way that Eddie Howe wants to run the team. This is a guy that is very fast, drives well with the ball, not the greatest finisher – he only scored six last season – but there is the potential there. "I’m not sure you pay £60m for a potential player, but in any case it’s one of those. If you’ve got the money, why not? "I don’t think he is worth that money, but he had a buyout clause. Of course Isak trebles his wages, so there wasn’t going to be any doubt from him." Kristof Terreur added: "It’s what I call the Salt Bae effect. "Everyone knows the famous chef who puts the salt on the steaks. He has a restaurant in Turkey where you can eat the same steak for 50 euros or for 60 euros, but in London you pay 900 euros. "The Premier League is the same. You pay 60m euros for a player that another team might have paid 25m for in Europe."

Samu has cost Porto around £25 million pounds altogether, and for the number of goals he's scored as a 21 year old, they are going to be looking to double their money and then some at the very least. If we think the fee is too high then we'll have to look elsewhere. Think we're running out of options for a high potential younger striker though. I've seen some links to Mika Biereth at Monaco, but the sources weren't great. He can apparently be had for around £40 million, as they got him for much less from Sturm Graz after Arsenal fumbled him as a prospect. Wouldn't be surprised if Biereth is on our list too with that sort of fee, and with him being home grown and having come through at a Premier League club originally. French league is also a step up from the Portuguese one and is more physical and faster. He's probably the best finisher/goal scorer of these younger striker options. He wouldn't be a bad shout either.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Yeah, it's interesting. I wonder if it's to make things more challenging for the first team players that feature, while also having the squad players play alongside some first team players too, so they have to play up to a higher level. I see some teams play full second teams against other teams full second teams, and it's probably not ideal preparation for these players if they have to come into the first team for whatever reason, once the season starts. -
Murphy has been terrible in possession throughout pre season and has given the ball away constantly. I think his performances have been poor. This despite having had the luxury of being in the lineups that have had Bruno and Trippier down that right side with him. Once the season gets going and Elanga is in the strongest team we'll see the best of him. Think his general play and ball carrying is several levels above Murphy and that alone will improve the team significantly. We've already seen his delivery assist Wood numerous times at Forest, and so that will come along just fine too.

With the unfortunate loss of Jota, even a few weeks ago I was thinking that Wissa would fit that role Jota played as a versatile forward for Liverpool. And so I'm not surprised to see the link and that they may have been considering him. I think with us looking at Wissa and a younger prospect, he knows he'll play a more important role at Newcastle, and from the reports it sounds like Howe rates him highly, and not just as some extra guy like he's more likely to be at Liverpool.
-
Downie mentioned the Liverpool thing in his latest video, as them having enquired as a backup option if they don't get Isak. And apparently Wissa wasn't interested in the move and has been completely sold on joining Newcastle already.
-
They will have been aware of what we bid for Sesko, and so have set that as the starting point marker. From various articles earlier in the summer, somewhere around £60 million with add ons probably gets the deal done.

Your opinions on players never have any kind of reason or thought to back them up. You just complain endlessly about how average or underwhelming they are. I think you just love bitching! But that's fine. When the season starts we'll see how things play out and revisit all this certainty you have then.
-
We'll see how average a signing he is once he joins and gets some games under his belt along with all the others. At that point we'll revisit all these assertions being made. Instead of judging players off hype, price tags or FM ratings.
-
No matter what the usual suspects will find something to whine and complain about. Always.

This is how much half decent second division players in England cost man

Surprised he hasn't been able to make more of his loan opportunities. Looks a decent footballer technically. -
