From what I've seen, he's more of a technically gifted type that looks to cut in from that right side onto his left to make things happen. He seems to be highly regarded and I'm big on targeting these prospects that the likes of Man City and Chelsea let slip through because they keep spending and not nurturing their academy talent.

I think it's a bit different for McAtee as he's 22 and played a full season with Sheffield United last season. He got some decent experience and so I don't think it will be the typical Howe transition. I imagine McAtee would be pretty confident of eventually usurping Murphy too, who is 29 and is more of a squad player in the long term. The issue at Man City seems to be the lack of minutes on the whole, even with the injuries and struggles earlier in the season for them. They are now bringing in Marmoush who has his type of versatility to cover multiple positions, as does Oscar Bob who will be returning at some point. There is no pathway there for him and he wasn't really given a fair crack when they were short and needed help. At Newcastle I think initially he comes on plenty for Murphy, and also probably starts a number of games too. With Barnes out he can also provide cover for Gordon while Barnes is out. He'll then have a realistic opportunity to nail down that spot on the right going forward, or at the very least start far more games if we go into Europe.

I think Dibling is more likely in the summer, as they will ask for big money to get him now and we won't be able to get an initial loan I don't think. Even if we got McAtee, if we then qualify for the Champions League, I'd go after Dibling too in the summer. McAtee at 22 and Dibling at 18 secures that side for the long term and McAtee can also cover other positions. Will be around £65 million for the pair of them too, which is pretty decent.

I think we'll see a Lewis Hall type loan with an obligation for McAtee at Man City, once Miggy leaves. Was reading yesterday that they want £25 million for him. Well worth a punt even if he only goes on to be a squad player, and he seems to have the potential to be more than that, especially once Howe gets a hold of him. Will be a valuable addition as he can play on the right, upfront, number 10 and as an 8.

They were tiring and dropping deeper and deeper. However, in hindsight he should have probably just left them out there. Aribo, Ugochukwu and Mateus Fernandes were schooling them in midfield. Downes and Smallbone were so poor when they came on.
