50/60m could be enough for Leverkusen, if Xabi has a tougher sophomore season they may not see that value again
-
Kossounou Any good? Was he not mostly behind Tapsoba and Tah (who has went to Bayern?) last season?
-
Eddie Nketiah is Marlo from the Wire

Broja to Ipswich on a season long loan

They bid 115m for Caicedo last summer and pretty much haven’t signed a soul since. Mad that folk are thinking they need this or Gomez to afford Guehi if they wanted him.
-
Yeah we were sort of screwed my the three year rule weren’t we? The lads on the bench weren’t anywhere near the best in the academy but the only ones eligible.
-
Aye, he was one of the three that came on at the end vs Chelsea when the game was already won. Watched him at SJP last year and now I’ll probably get to see him play against Heaton Stan this year, quite mad!

Venture Capital FC is the perfect way to describe them. They are throwing money at the wall in the hope that a few of them strike gold. The wages are kept relatively low or a least performance based. Although I’m still unsure if the idea is they will be able to sell the ‘portfolio’ players at profit or the plan is that their scattergun approach pays off down the line and they have a all conquering team at which point Clearlake look to double their money in selling the club. I’m leaning towards the latter. Todd’s mask slipped a year or two back when he literally called the players ‘human capital’ and I get that players are in one respect just a commodity to be traded but if you treat humans be they players/coaches/staff with that sort of attitude you are never going to get the by in or belief you get at other clubs.

Has there been any indication on why the Omorodion deal fell through?
-
Because they are an absolute shit show? Three years in a row they’ve left them selves trying flog players to try and register their shiny new player.

Bulking up. Good to hear!

Its EnGee ffs He’s literally two raccoons in a trenchcoat.

Yeah think we will be reticent to do business with Palace again after this is done one way or the other. We seem to prefer teams like Forest and Chelsea who seem to deal with much less fuss.

Leicester were the original Brighton in terms of buying unknowns who turned out to be class but as they got more successful they started to spend real money and when they hit a few duds they came unstuck. Brighton have started chucking around real dollar past two windows for the first time and it’s all looking rosey for them but the Leicester fate could always be a danger if they get a few big deals wrong.

Is this the sell on clause? Seems mental for Palace to allow that if they actually want to sell as don’t see that his value ever being this high again (post Euros, perfect age, media hype). I feel their preference would be that he signs a new deal with a buy out clause / gentleman’s agreement that he can go next summer. But if they have a poor season that’s still a gamble. Plus it looks like Guehi has no intention of signing a new deal at the moment. I’d still like him here, think the deal has a combination of being a statement (young England player, just had a great Euros) and has a lot of quality about him even if he didn’t have the greatest game yesterday. People get caught up in a binary player good vs player bad mentality. I think he’d great here and I’m sure the recruitment and coaching team have thought about how he compliments our style. Plus Howe has shown he can improve most players if they are fully bought in.

Well they sacked the last manager for dropping Enzo didn’t they
-
Wasn’t he the first signing? There wasn’t the same body of evidence of their lunacy when they brought him in.

As discussed a week or so ago, he has played so much football since a young age I think he’s a bit of a spent force. He may be late 20s but has probably played significantly more games than most pros in their mid 30s. Stay well away for us IMO

I think Barca will consider selling anyone that isn’t called Pedri, Gavi or Curbasi. We’d held an interest in Roque prior to his move, we might see an opportunity there. Esp with the Bruno connection.
-
Barca can’t register Olmo to play until they shift a few players. Absolute clown club
-
I think it’s Palace trying to control the optics of selling their best three players after such a strong finish to the season.
